We get an extra cupcake every season.Feel like we should get some additional compensation for this, no?
They should axe the annual Stanford game and replace it with Miami again.Hope it kills the annual Stanford arrangement, if it isn’t dead already
Did the "pie" get bigger though? I feel like it's the same terms money wise each year, just for longer.Deal is part of a plan to settle the lawsuits by Clemson and FSu vs the ACC. The pie gets bigger so those two get more. Stands to reason we will too.
Probably going to see Clemson and FSu on our schedule quite often between 2027 and 2032.
Don’t know why the beloved Canes are in there
MF may want to continue the annual west coast trip for recruiting purposes. They should axe the annual Stanford game and replace it with Miami again.
I agree. ND and the traditional ACC "powers" will cannibalize each other.I understand Sampson's perspective, but on the other side of the coin, this seems to be a de facto boon for the SEC/B1G as well. ND and the three schools from the ACC who have the best yearly chance to make the playoffs now have to play each other much more often. This is going to result in more ND losses and (hopefully much) more top tier ACC losses. As Sampson mentioned in his thread, the new paradigm is "just win your games" because the real season starts in late November. If I'm Greg Sankey/ESPN I welcome this news because it makes it more likely that the Bama/Ole Miss teams from last year get to back their way in.
I agree with this. Sampson posted a thread on this explaining how it helps both parties:
His last tweet in the thread ends with this quote:
"The stronger the ACC, the better it is for Notre Dame," as Pete Bevacqua told me in November.
This will help the ACC with TV ratings and national perception, which should help stabilize the conference and ND's arrangement with them.

This is the correct answer. It gaurantees marquee matchups every year. And helps ensure we don't end up with too many G5 teams on our schedule. From our perspective this also feels a bit like insurance against an extra conference game for the SEC and/or the rumored SEC/B1G Challenge, which would reduce their non conference slots.
If it gets harder to find SEC/B1G teams, we’re at least guaranteed a couple of marquee games with the ACC.

Prioritizes traditional rivals, geographical rivals, and presence in important recruiting areas. Every or nearly every game would be either big or have some element of intrigue to it, while still not being overwhelming in any given year. Allows for the occasional scheduling of a big opponent who we do not usually play as well (Ohio State, Georgia, etc.)

These days he can. Just go. No sense in reserving a trip the west coast and trying it to a football game. lol. Just get in the plane and go.MF may want to continue the annual west coast trip for recruiting purposes.
They just have to agree on the demise of the ACC. Tell Disney if the want any taste of the Premier League they’ll work with the buyout/demo of the ACC.All this restructuring is dumb when they can just create a premiere league of the top 25 teams based on tv viewership and ad revenue. Stop all the pretense and just fucking do it.
Think the idea is also that California kids get to play a game in California every seasonThese days he can. Just go. No sense in reserving a trip the west coast and trying it to a football game. lol. Just get in the plane and go.
That’s been the talking point in the past but the big boys in the SEC have had no prob snagging top CA talent.Think the idea is also that California kids get to play a game in California every season
Saw that too. Doesn't look like Rose BowlSo no Rose Bowl Stanford game?
Official release just says @ Stanford
I'm afraid of that.cant imagine USC is going to keep playing us
That's M.A.D. for the B1G and SEC. Neither wants us to join the others conference and a scheduling agreement that forces us out would cause that. Neither side wants to be the loser in that decision so they will both keep the status quo.I'm afraid of that.
I'm also afraid of some sort of Big Ten / SEC alliance and we're "blackballed" and left to schedule ACC and Big 12 teams.
I'm fine with this,... what other team plays something comparable to FSU, Miami or Clemson, USC, Stanford and Navy yearly with a game or two a year against the likes of scUM, tOSU, OU, UGA, Texas plus other P5 games all mixed in?? That's not just a well above average schedule (to say it mildly) but it's also an insane amount of travel that most other programs, especially the big boys, don't mess with.cant imagine USC is going to keep playing us
