I think he means its the last free weekend of football until January. Indiana HS Football starts tonight, but across the nation its next weekend. Then those guys dont get a break until the bowl season wraps up.

TP makes sense (as usual) from a workload viewpoint.
The other side is BGI has been struggling financially for several years. I was a long time subscriber to the print version. Nobody writes ND better than Somogyi. That said, there operation almost folded a few years ago. It was taken over by a group out of N.C. That handles publications for several football team publications. There was supposed to be economy of scale in administration, marketing, billing, editing, printing and such.
They experimented with different formats, slick gloss magazine with lots of articles to tabloid, tissue paper thin paper, and less articles.
They changed mailing formats several times. My wife renewed my subscription including the year round expedited delivery fees as a birthday present. Delivery became shoddy, sometimes late. In the 2012 season the only issue that I received prior to Gameday was the first game of the season. It came about two early with guesstimates of the starting lineups.
I called them, emailed them, faxed them and finally their response was I could log on to read articles with no credit or refund. I got another "We miss your subscription" letter yesterday.
I still think Somogyi's an outstanding ND journalist but their subscription letter went in the trash. They burned that bridge.

Of course in that same thread you had NDFister (Star 69) ripping on Loy because he is not attending some of the high school games this weekend. That was the whole reason for Loy's response to the last hurrah thing. It was in response to NDFister.
Can't believe that guy is not banned for some of his conduct on BGI. He rips on Tom Loy constantly. Credit to Loy though as he has ripped him back a few times.

Haha yeah.
A guy that looks like he worked there in the past also adressed stuff BGIF posted. Pretty much said you have to accept that BGI works to put out the magazine on top of every day recruiting and team coverage while II/ISD don't, so them having the time to get prospects on the phone or go to more events/games is rooted in that.

I really got under Loy's skin tonight. I asked him what he thought of his Noles tonight and he got really upset. I don't know how to post tweets on here. But just a heads up don't ask Loy about the Noles every chance you get or he will not be a happy camper with you. Then he would probably stop CBing every prospect we are after to ND. Maybe that would be a good thing. I just can't stop pissing off Mods. Am I that awful of a person?
