I drive long, boring routes pretty regularly. I'd trade my license for a self-driving car in a heartbeat. Never been in an accident, never gotten so much as a parking ticket, just would much rather read, sleep or work for 12 hour routes than fight semitruck drivers as they fall asleep, teenage girls as they text, and a never-ending parade of people who never face consequences for inappropriate use of turn signals. Since automated cars could run much more quickly, too, I am definitely onboard. Why wouldn't you want to improve safety, fuel economy, and get to your destination twice as fast?
