So I am an ESPN insider member, but that isn't giving me the info I want for ND recruiting or just ND football in general.

What subscription site would you all recommend joining? Should I go for Rivals, Scout, or 247? Or should I go for an ND dedicated site like ISD?

Thanks in advance. Feel free to move this thread if it's not in the right forum.

247 is by far and away the best. Make sure to have a twitter account as well. The updates are fantastic.

So I wondered about this, too. 247 seems to have the most accurate rankings and the best national network of scouts and insiders, but ISD also seems to always have pretty good stuff up behind the pay wall (at least it looks interesting - I'm not a subscriber so I don't see it). Do all of you that are members of a site agree that 247 is the best in terms of access and info? Any votes for ISD?

24 7. Sapp attack and Wilfong are taking over ND football and recruiting. TJ34 and 46 are worth it for rivals. Cant go wrong.

They all have their qualities.

I like ISD because of CoachD's articles and their message board, for the most part, being much better than the others. After a loss they can be brutal, but seriously, the others are even worse - far worse. And in recruiting, they focus on getting it right rather than getting it first, which I appreciate. But again, CoachD on the message board and in his articles/film breakdowns, for my money, is the best in the business. I learn a ton from him.

As was mentioned, 24/7 is just killing it with recruiting b/c of Sapp and Wiltfong. Wiltfong used to be with ISD, so I know his work well. Dude is a stud. Their podcasts are brutal though, so I canceled my subscription on that basis alone. I get a ton of their stuff from the guys here anyways, and I wasn't active on their boards at all so it wasn't a big loss. Still, they're good.

Scout = dinosaur.

Rivals - another good site, but their message boards can be incredibly negative/brutal. Great recruiting info there as well, and good podcasts.

ISD is best for real analysis of recruits, games, etc.

247 is best for recruiting news.

II is decent on recruiting and analysis.

I don't have a sub. to Scout.

ESPN Insider is a waste of money IMO. Rumor Central is filled with rumors around the internet that they link stories too. I still have it though so I guess the jokes on me. lol

Yeah ESPN Insider isn't good for recruiting, but I subscribed for the other stuff on ESPN and not the recruiting coverage.

Just signed up for 247... good stuff.

Does the membership only apply to ND coverage?

You can hit up the blue board and see about half of the things on other websites. Most of the Staff news is VIP only, but you can get access to their boards.

where else you gonna get Mr. Brown and Ms. Lynch tellin people to settle down. lol well besides IE ;)

No offense, but Alice is still in denial in that post right there. This isn't life or death. I equate it to which country club their entitled babies are going to be signing on with. It's really not that tough a decision at all. Make your choice, and stand by your word, gentlemen.

True. They really can't go wrong. At worst it's "maybe a little less good."
But these kids don't realize that. Most 17 year olds lack perspective on the world, and that's without grown men tracking their every utterance and stalking them on Facebook. If I were a big-time recruit, I'd be alternately humbled, full of myself, and at least a little petrified about it all.

Just signed up for the 247 thirty day.. we'll see.

If any current members have any advice or tips to easier navigate the site it'd be much appreciated.

24 7 is real legit. Sapp Attack and Stevey Wonder do work all day. Plus Golden is there and thats a 3 man team that most cant beat.

Just saw something that was pretty interesting to me as we consider which recruiting service is best.

Rivals had ND's average star as 3.5

247 had ND's average star as 3.5

ESPN had ND's average star as 3.5 (if you take away Amir, who they include in the class, so it is totaling 17).

They differ in terms of individual players, but I thought it was interesting that they all came out to a 3.5.

Sapp and Wiltfong dominate, Sapp is extremely professional and Wiltfong seems to have some kind of magic crystal ball. Wiltfong is right on, more so than any other analyst I've ever seen.

7 days to decide what? Is there a catch? It says sign up for a month subscription and you get 9 months. I didn't see any fine print. Do you have to buy something else to get the 9 months for 9.95?

No I think you can cancel within 7 days and pay 0 dollars. If you don't cancel within 7 days you're supposed to be getting 9 months.

When I looked at the site this morning, it said join free for 7 days, just cancel before then and there would be no charge. I didn't see the deal you posted.

Edit: I clicked thru your link, still don't see the free months offer so we'll see. Either way, I'm going to keep it. Mayberry is a little slow this time of the year.
