Remember when Texas winning a football game was the biggest story of the weekend?

Always kind of liked him. Can't really explain why. Hope he enjoys retirement.

How desirable is that job? Would a Freeze or Mullen go there?

I don't see that being a big upgrade for either Freeze or Mullen. Freeze is my guess in the other usc pool.

Seems to be time...

Holtz moved that program forward some, then Spurrier moved it forward some more. The school needs to make a commitment to grabbing a top tier coach. They need to be willing to spend bigger $$$$$ than anyone down there in the SEC.

Um just read Mark D'Antonio is an alum..
They should pay him whatever he wants. This could happen .

Yep. That is what is going around the state of SC right now. it is immediate and someone else will coach the rest of the season.

Because he's the greatest smart ass of a coach in CFB history, and he gave his own team shit when they deserved it.

He's also famous for working 8 hours a day only.

crazy. thought he had enough support to at least finish the rest of the year.

What was South Carolina before him? Not much.

Who do they get to replace him....will be fascinating to see how that shakes out. I highly doubt Dantonio is leaving MSU, he's a lifer there imo.

Fleck from WMU?

Greg Bryant will be the new head coach at South Carolina. It all makes sense now.

Samesies. He has that same goofy demeanor that Holtz has. They are completely different types of people, mind. But the kind of guy that reminds you of a fun grandpa.

I wish him well. He was a damn good coach.

Both USCs change coaches in the same day, middle of season? What are the odds?

Wasnt SS the one who would never put ND on his coaches ballot?

Yeah he was a notorious asshat. I still really like him though.

If ESPN can somehow get him on College Gameday, I'll watch every second.

Screw Spurrier. He hated Notre Dame and the proof was always in his coaches poll ballot.

Gonna miss the OBC. He kept everything grounded with his humor. Best wishes to him.
