There is probably an NBA thread but I don't care. How absurd is this guy? Hits this tonight like it's nothing.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Steph Curry, never change. <a href="https://t.co/fNqtcMEw4k">https://t.co/fNqtcMEw4k</a></p>— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNNBA/status/703807920585183232">February 28, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Owns the record for most games in a row with a 3. Plus he has already broken his own record for most 3 pointers in a season and it's only February.

The guy can make any shot he wants.

It's a never-before-never-again combination of confidence, body control, and talent.

Watching how poor his form is on some of the shots he makes just makes it even more absurd. It doesn't matter what happens with the lower half of his body when he shoots... he knows how to make any shot with just his arms and his understanding of where he is on the court.

His success almost makes no sense at times lol.

When I was watching tonight I thought of playing video games with my brother. I beat him all the time but he would have these magical games that he later admitted was because he was altering player ratings before games. Only in this case you cannot just hit the pause button and check player settings, its real life.

He has to be the best shooter the game has ever seen, right?

I grew up going to Warrior games when a 20 win season was something to cheer. I still can't believe what I am seeing. I never thought I would see a Chapionship let alone what this team is doing.... Unreal.

I absolutely, positively can not stand him. He's insanely talented and there's not a better shooter in the game, but I cannot stand him or GS. Kerr has become a pompous, arrogant snob and it's trickled down to his players.

On a side note, what a career altering decision by Kerr to take the GS job and pass on Phil Jackson and that shit storm in the Big Apple.

I have no proof of this, but I feel like Curry has to be absolutely ruining basketball at the youth level. He's literally the only person on Earth who can do what he does, but because he's so good at it and so popular, how could you not try to imitate him as a kid?

this sounds like what 70's and early 80's players said about And1....And1 eliminated the mid-range jumper (Charles Oakley had a great mid-range, as did Kobe) in lieu of taking everything to the hole. Now the cycle has come back, and going to hole is being superceded by not the mid-range jumper, but the long-range jumper.

ppl don't like change, so the new 'trend', no matter what year, just 'ruins the game'.

Test him for roids. That's the only logical explanation.

Anonymous must have hacked the game and upgraded all of his attributes.

*Cheat code enabled*

He had to have went to the same cross roads that Robert Johnson went to in Mississippi.

No other explanations unless it was aliens. Or he is part of the group that are actually lizards in human disguise.

Westbrook > Curry

Defense is elite. Rebounding is absurd. Block shots. Scores at a consistent and elite level. Finish at the rim. Motor is unreal.

Curry is awesome, definitely top 5 player, but overall I take Durant, Westbrook, and Lebron over him.

On ball Defense - Westbrook
Blocks - Westbrook
Steals - Westbrook
Assist to turnover - Westbrook
Rebounding - Westbrook
Scoring - Curry

#1 Lebron
#2 Westbrook
#3 Durant
#4 Curry

If you mean better by scoring then yes I would agree. But overall, Westbrook is a legit two way player and is elite in all aspects of his game.

only 6/8 on free throws? Pass

Typical Virgil Sweet, Valpo disciple. 6 of 8 = FAIL.

You're only bustin' his chops because he's shadin' your RSM boy Thompson.

Yeah like 3 point shooting where he went 0-6 last night (compared to Curry going 12-16 - the equivalent of shooting 113% on 2 pointers) and turnovers; 7 to Curry's 3.

That said Westbrook is probably the second best player in the league.

But Curry is going to be the first unanimous MVP in NBA history.

As an 80's - 90's basketball guy I have to be honest, I'll reserve final judgement until after this year's playoffs but he might be at that tier 2 level of HOF already. If he can keep this up for 2-3 more years, he might be an Isaiah Thomas clone who's even up there with Bird, Magic, Jordan and a half rung down the ladder Kobe. He's obviously not there based on body of work but if this keeps up it's gonna be hard to argue otherwise. Every night of SC seems like Zeke's highlight film.

If it happens, it's a stupid fact being that Wilt, Kareem, Oscar, Bird, Magic or Jordan didn't do it. Dude's great but...

He groks the game. He's risen above the mechanics of the game to a level where he is in a flow and can break rules at will to his benefit. That includes mechanics and the deepening of the court.

1. Curry

4. Durant

And what does it say that two of your top 4 players are on the same team and can't beat Curry? Not that his supporting cast is bad but his efficiency is what's phenomenal. That changes the complexion of a game immediately and he opens up the whole floor for his team because his man must be locked on or he's getting burned.

We've certainly never seen a perimeter player like him. There have been many one trick ponies but Curry's game is smoooooooooth.

Westbrook and Lebron remind me of great athletes that chose basketball. Curry, and to a lesser extent Durant, are basketball players with athleticism.

Jordan should have won the MVP about 10 times. The fact that he didn't just means that writers were looking to give it to someone else. Along the same lines, several people should have been unanimous.

But Curry is sick and only seems to be getting better. I'm just glad he missed his last shot as a sophomore at Davidson...that three-point miss allowed Kansas to continue into the final four on their 2008 championship run.

To the player list, what is that a list of? MVP or best player or ? Curry is the MVP and the best offensive player, but he isn't a good enough defensive player to be the best. Neither is Durant.

To the first bolded, that's not accurate. I get what you're saying, but there are 5 on the court for each team. Durant fouled out so in the end it was Westrook v Curry.

To the second and third bolded, absolutely spot on.

It is true. I have an 8 year and a 15 year old that play. I am at practices and games frequently. All the kids shoot three pointers all the time. It gets annoying.

It's not just that he's a freak of nature or that he's cheating somehow, he does some crazy training. Stuff like playing with strobe goggles that blink on and off and catching a tennis ball being thrown at you while dribbling between your legs and all kinds of weird stuff that will never happen in a game but make it so that he has the confidence to perform no matter what situations ever DO come up in a game. ESPN did a feature on this:

NBA: Inside the unorthodox training routine of Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry

But there's more information around if you want to find it. Definitely cutting edge and fascinating stuff. Like the second poster was talking about shooting with poor form, that's literally the kind of stuff he practices. And it makes sense because how often during a game do you get to shoot with time and space to use perfect form?

Curry passed that. He didn't take the final shot.

The best small offensive player I have ever seen play live was Iverson. That dude could flat out score amongst the trees and he was barely 5 '11. No defense though.

Magic is the best point guard ever followed closely by Stockton. Stockton played great defense, set brutal screens with his wide lower base, and shot like crazy. Stockton was one tough mofo and his all around game made him great. Magic could defend all five positions depending on the matchup, but he was an average jump shooter.

If Curry can become a lock down defender I would definitely put him ahead of Westbrook. But it takes a ton of energy and mental drive to play as hard as Westbrook does on both sides of the court. Westbrook is also gifted genetically with the wide shoulder frame so he can absorb contact and still finish at the rim, just like Harden and Kobe.

In the finals, Lebron avg 35.8ppg, 13.3rpg, and 8.8apg playing with Matthew Delbavova(sp?). Curry was 26ppg, 5.2rpg, 6.3apg. This is against quality competition and supposedly lock down defenders in Iggy and Green. It is actually quite shocking people actually think Curry is better than Lebron. Lebron also is one of the best and most versatile defenders in the league.
