I don't see how you can say their safeties are more talented than Zeke Motta. Motta is a solid player and players on the team think he will end up a better player than Harrison Smith.

Who says that? I'll admit that IMO, Harrison was a bit of a disappointment last year. That being said, if this year, Zeke plays as good as Harrison did last year, I'd consider that a success for Motta. Last year, watching Zeke take an angle to make a play was like watching Sherriff Rosco chase after the Dukes of Hazard.

No it hasn't, I was being facetious.

(fa·ce·tious [ fə seeshəss ] supposed to be funny: intended to be humorous but often silly or inappropriate)

Then I made it clear I was no longer talking about the hammer; I call him Doc, which has a bit of an Eduardian ring to it. Don't you agree?

The rest I meant seriously about the others that drag these kids through crap, over the honest effort they are making.

I got something completely different out of the Lou Holtz Dictionary...

Kovacs is straight up better than Motta. I don't care if he used to be a walk-on, he is one of the surest tacklers in college football. Motta misses tackles and whiffs in coverage every other play. If he has a renaissance season, great, but I won't hold my breath. And I still don't think Harrison Smith was as great as you guys say. He was a good safety, definitely not great. A great safety would make more plays than he did. I still chuckle to myself remembering the crazy All-American hype he was getting before this past season. Zeke's got talent, he just doesn't play very well.

I fully agree with the first part.

Me, Mayock, Kiper, McShay and one lucky NFL team disagree with you on the second part.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority regarding Harrison. I just remember after the Miami game where Jacory was trying to break the record for interceptions and the hype skyrocketed for Harrison and I immediately called that he wouldn't even come close to the hype or the INT count. I was stunned when I heard he would go so high in the draft. Obviously, they know a hell of a lot more than I do, and as a fellow ND grad, I heartily congratulate him. But I still don't want the Lions to draft him.

Slaughter at CB over Lo Wood according to JSapp, Collinsworth at safety.

Thats how it needs to be when we play Navy. Collinsworth and Slaughter are both starting material, you cant have starting material on the bench. I trust Slaughter more than Wood at CB anyway

Well we don't know much, but it's safe to say we lead for Lynch, right? Lol.

A little bit more specifics from the Trib. Per the Trib, Lynch was absent from this morning's practice for family reasons that precipitated his return to his mother's home in Ohio.

Just reporting what's printed.

Lynch is gonna be a 1st round NFL pick when he comes out. Love that guy.

I just hope Ishaq and Tuitt step up as well. I have high hopes for them as well.

I like this move. No offense to Lo Wood, but we need some help over there.

On another note, Slaughter will have quite the resume on him come draft time. How many prospects can say that they have played corner, FS, SS, and OLB all during their college career. He's a very versatile player for us.
