Devise a new scheme. Line Buchner up in the Slot, Hartman passes to Buchner behind the LOS who can either run with the ball or pass again. Looking for scheme names.
Fun fact, Montana State actually did a variation of this last year with their two QBs. Go to 1:12 in this clip, both QBs are lined up in the backfield.

Interesting that they have both Lewis and Barnes still at corner (at least it looks that way in the video). I thought one of them would swing to safety as I don't think they have the right physical ability for corner.

Maybe coaches need to see something out of the frosh corners before moving a vet like lewis.

O’Malley made a good point on the podcast about Lewis. Paraphrasing, he’s been at corner for 3 years and playing a ton, and you’re asking him to learn a whole new position his senior year? If he’s not all in on the idea, it’s a tough sell to someone who’s been in the program for so long

Fair. Just think if Mickey grows you'll have Hart, Morrison, Mickey ahead of him.

I think he has to realize the film of him at corner is pretty bad. He could have a shot at safety.

Starting frosh and sophmore year to not starting as a jr but playing, and then playing less as a Sr. At least that's how I assume it goes this year. That's not a great trajectory if he has hopes of playing at the next level. If he's content with being a role player at corner/nickel/dime then so be it.

go one better with 3 QBs why not

Averaging 44 points a game with that setup. Hartman, Buchner, and Minchey at the same time?! That would be awesome. Throw to either QB in the flat, let them make a decision to run or throw it again. Make defenses really cover the entire field and stretch it out.

Hartman drops a dime over the shoulder of CB1, Merriweather uses excellent concentration and ball skills to secure the catch despite tight coverage from BenMo.

BenMo running stride-for-stride with a great athlete that has plus size, getting beat ONLY because of a perfect throw/catch combo on a play where he gets credited for a pass defensed 9 out of 10 times.

It moved.

Kollie saying Onye can't be blocked. That would be an awesome development.

He does admit that he's biased though. Roommates?
I sure hope so because an improved DL & LB group would go a long ways.

On the DL you need a few out of the Onye, Rubio, Gobaira, Ford, Burnham, hinish to step up and not just contribute but actually be good and make plays

Same with LB - Kollie, Zeigler, Sneed - Again, it's one thing to get on the field, but ND needs them to be good and make plays that Marist, JD, Kiser haven't the last 2 years. Either the 3 starting LBs drastically improve (JD wasn't bad) especially as a unit or they have to start getting mixed in a lot more. It's the coaches challenge of 3 lbs that probably are in the right place majority of the time but miss plays, vs young talented guys that might not be in the right place enough to have full confidence yet.

Raridon stating that he will be "ready to go" will be a huge boost to the team. Can't wait to see what that kid brings when healthy.

Can't help but be amazed by how well Buchner is taking this situation. If he's pissed about it at all, he certainly fooled me based on this presser.

Seems to me like he fully grasps that 1) positional competition can only make you better and 2) he will get another shot to lead this offense, regardless of whether or not that's this year.

I actually believe the coaches when they say Angeli has been looking sharp.

Genuinely believe that top to bottom this is the best QB room we've had since...I'm drawing a blank.

Now can one of them be THE guy? We'll have to see. But I believe in the ability in any of them to be that guy which is the crazy thing.

There’s nobody to dread if they were called in. Usually there’s one.

2007: Demetrius Jones, Zach Frazier, Jimmy Clausen, and THE Evan Sharpley!

On paper there was a lot of talent there, but it was a pretty young and inexperienced room.
Demetrius was a 4 star prospect and the #2 Dual Threat QB according to Rivals at the time. He was chosen as the starter, but was benched after a game and transferred to Cincinnati where I believe he ended up playing defense.
Zach Frazier was a 4 star prospect and rated the #6 Pro Passer. He ended up transferring to UConn and was a 3 year starter, as well as leading the Huskies in an upset over us.
Evan Sharpley had the least talent on paper as a 3 star QB, but saw a lot of meaningful snaps that season after the Jones situation and inexperience/injuries.
Who knows what happened to that Clausen kid.
