Martin already?
And feels like the only thing that could save Flood and London is the sheer number of P5 programs looking for coaches. Pinkel probably saved at least one of their jobs yesterday.

If I was a coaching looking for a new job Missouri word be the first school off the list. That school has screwed every position that has any type of control.

Purdue says Hazzell is coming back. I think it is more realizing how far down the pecking order they will be with all the openings than confidence in Hazzell.

Ah yes, the old "I want to break up with but I can't right now because all the hotter, single girls have so many better options right now so I'll just stick with what I have and maybe hit the gym and make myself look more marketable for the next go-round."

While we disdain the cave in to sports that the MU administration did, think about the control they lost. Sort of like the Ohio State President Gee that said, "Fire the coach? He could fire us."

They didn't do what they did because the football team went on strike. They'd already lost half the campus, the football thing just brought national media attention.
But that's another topic.

Mizzou's a tricky job, comparable to South Carolina in some ways. Mid-tier SEC and that's probably the best they can hope for. They've oddly never done that well recruiting top kids from STL or KC, but pulled a lot of kids from Texas, especially in their Big 12 days. Filling the stadium is hard b/c of their location, and both big cities are pro towns. Pinkel did pretty well, all things considered. They'd have to invest a lot to climb from what he built. And they don't even have a permanent chancellor right now.

Hell, they have been to twice as many SECCGs as South Carolina has already.

Students have protested since schools began. Students have occupied, trashed, and burned campus building from Columbia to Berkley that wasn't the case here. The millions of dollars of lost revenue associated with a cancelled game forced the issue. Home games are a big revenue generator for the university, city, and county. MU caved over a football game not over hurt feelings. Pinkel's tweet was a straight edged razor against MU's carotid.

You sound like the Mendenez brothers employing the Orphan Defense after executing their parents.

Randy Shannon tried to do it the same way at Miami, and they ran him. I don't think they will give Strong enough time either.

USCe?

I just don't see Smart being a good HC.

Just curious... what is the USCe?

Smart has everything USC wants. Defense. Recruiter. Experience for and against elite teams. They want him and he currently the 5-2 favorite for odds makers.

If he gets the job I wish him well. He has been good for us no doubt.
