I do believe Chaney will get a better hold of the offense in his second year. If the OL steps up in their pass blocking, it would not surprise me if Eason turned out to be a stud. He does have the talent. The UGA D will take a step forward for sure this year. IMO, it's going to be how much Chaney can install his O.

Had a dream last night that ND beat the dogshit out of Georgia.

The final was 45-20, and Josh Adams kept breaking off demoralizing long runs. I woke up feeling like we FINALLY had a renowned defense, where the players constantly swarm, create turnovers, and make timely plays consistently.

Go Irish.

ND not getting much love from my SEC brethren.

Why is everyone so high on Notre Dame? | SECRant.com

For the record, I think this is an interesting game. I think Eason has a chance to be a really good QB. He needs an OL that can give him time in the pocket. The problem is... he don't have even an average OL at this point. But I don't see the Irish DL being a tremendous amount better either. My prediction for this one comes down to who can win that battle in the trenches. Win there... win the game. I like Ga... but it seems like every year I like Ga and they disappoint. That, plus the fact that I have never been sold on Kirby as a HC, gives me the thought that the Irish can pull this one out... if they can give BW time to settle in. ND in a tight one 31-27.

It does crack me up that after we roll temple, most people will predict ND to win on this site, yet their site has Georgia winning by 4 Td's... I am amused that college fandom causes everyone in the country to wear rose colored glasses at times

this game will be the bell weather of the season. Win here and anything is possible, lose and the headwinds are significant. I think heat may be a factor, if its 110 in the shade Georgia wins, 70 and sunny ND wins

I think Georgia rolls us. I think it'll be like MSU last year, where they could run whenever they wanted for 8 yards, and their play action was therefore awesome too. Only due to the 2 RBs that Georgia has that should already be playing on Sundays, those runs will be 15 yard runs.

LOL, those 2 RB's aren't playing in the NFL now because they aren't good enough. Chubb had a 4th round grade on him and Michel was considered an UDFA. Not to mention their OL is terrible.

Their OL will be better this year. Not to mention they pulled in a 5-star JUCO OL for this year. And those two are NFL RBs right now.

OL will be very average. Didn't look any better in the spring and JUCO's usually struggle early on. Michel is not even on the NFL's radar. He's had a mediocre career at Georgia. And I live in Georgia so I've seen most of his games.

How dare you question Koon... If scouts think he is UDFA but Koon says he should be in NFL now!, he will be a first day draft pick in 2018!

Why is everyone so high on Georgia beating us?

QB- I think wimbush is better
WR- Notre Dame has more talent
OL- Notre Dame
TE- Notre Dame
RB- Notre Dame
Defense- Georgia has the edge but I'm only saying that because I haven't seen what Elko is capable of.
Special Teams- I think we have a better kicker and punter

Georgia has 10 starters coming back from a good defense. And Eason, a 5 star, with 1 year experience better than Wimbush, 4 star with no experience?

Bias doesn't get any stronger than that.

While I agree with your premise, do you acknowledge the fact that Eason didn't blow the doors off as a freshman? I mean, they ranked 40-50 in rushing, had a super vanilla playbook and he threw for less than 60% without being asked to stretch the field. He wasn't "bad", but he didn't look like a 5 star imo.

Eason has the ability to be a very good QB, but he has to show that he will be that very good QB. He doesn't scare me all that much, especially since he doesn't have any proven weapons at receiver or TE. His running backs are obviously good and will be the biggest threat.

Their o-line is still average at best. Just because they got a 5:s: JUCO, that doesn't mean they'll all of a sudden be a brick wall o-line. I'm taking our o-line over theirs all day long.

Notre Dame O vs Georgia D is the game deciding matchup. I think the Irish have the weapons both at running back and in the receiving game to keep the defense spread out. If Notre Dame can hit 27 points, I like our chances.

Imagine what a 4 star would have looked like...

What true freshman QB does look good besides Josh Rosen?

He looked far from a 5:s:. His lack of weapons at receiver won't help him either

After Chubb, whose better than Adams and Dexter?

Not saying I disagree, but it's not beyond debate.

Well Chubb is significantly better than Adams. And I'd take Sony over Dexter. I like Dexter, but what's he done? Sony has done it against better competition.

I'd take Adams over Chubb. Not a doubt in my mind. Chubb did not play well 2nd half of last season.

Every year there are a handful of freshmen that look great. Francios, Hurts and Collin Hill come to mind in recent memory. Eason was supposed to be all world type talent, and excuses aside, he hasn't looked it.

One could argue in the extremely small sample of Wimbush, he certainly has looked the part.

Sony isn't even good. Don't get what you're seeing there. I think even UGA fans would agree with that.
