Offered dozens of free tickets for Ball State from various clients.....and another free night in the suites. Think i'll take the suites. I did pass on a few tickets to local ND fans who don't often get to attend. Can't see any possible way this is a sell out unless Vivid is eating thousands of seats.

Sell out and attendance, that's the difference. They'll sell out for sure, but there very well could be a lot of empty seats.

Looking for some advice from those who have experience with ND on game day-

Staying about 2 miles away at a hotel.... I see that parking on game day is $40. What lot does that get you? What time should I get there to get a decent spot? I’ll be with my wife and college aged daughter, so walking isn’t a problem. Just don’t want to be in a bad spot. I haven’t been to a game since 2006 and I’m stoked!

We are planning on doing a “tunnel tour” on Friday afternoon and we’d like to catch the trumpets in the dome too. We want to attend the pep rally too.... any advice is appreciated with regard to arrival times to get a spot to park (pep rally is at Eddy St Commons). Is there something I listed that is not worthwhile? I’m open to any ideas for things that are more enjoyable around the campus as well. We’ve toured the campus previously so we don’t really need a guided tour.... I’m mainly concerned with whether I’m spending our time wisely and when/where to park...

Again any help/advice/suggestions are tremendously appreciated!

$40 parking spot sounds like White Field, but I'm not 100% certain. White Field is the very northern part of campus across Douglas Rd. What I recommend is to get a map of campus on Friday and scope out a spot the day before. This is a 3:30 game against Ball State, people will probably really start to show up around 11. If weather sucks, that will probably get moved back to closer to kickoff.

Pep Rally: If its at Eddy Street Commons, I would park in one of the nicer neighborhoods just southwest of eddy commons. I bolded "nicer" because you can be in a really nice neighborhood and then 2 blocks later you can be in a real shit hole. Its something that the city and Notre Dame is working to fix. But Eddy Street Commons is awesome, lots of food options and a bookstore for merch. If you don't feel comfortable parking in a neighborhood, I'd try the stadium lot. Eddy Commons is literally across the street from the stadium. I don't recommend Eddy Street's parking garage; it gets really congested and you'd probably be parking on the top floor. Consider the parking garage your last option.

My favorite thing to do the night before a home game is to go to the drum circle at the front steps of the golden dome. If you or your family are people that go to bed early, this probably isn't for you. Basically, the drummers in the Notre Dame band perform a drum line at midnight in front of the golden dome. It is really awesome. Now, its been a few years since I've been to one. Ask someone if they still do them because I'd hate for you to show up at midnight with nothing going on lol. If they still do them, I'd show up no later than 11:30 for a good spot.

Have you or your family seen the new renovations to Purcell Pavilion or the new Compton Center? They are both right next to the football stadium and both are awesome. Notre Dame opens them up to the public on game days. It is something you can do a few hours before kickoff to kill some time. Sometimes you can catch the boys or girls team scrimmaging on the court.

You said your daughter is college aged. Does that mean she's 21? Lots of good bars, as you could expect, surround the campus and downtown. The Backer is probably the most popular; its right off campus and always draws a good crowd on home game weekend. Brothers and O'Rourke's are in Eddy Street Commons; Brothers is your cliche college bar at night and O'Rourke's has an Irish feel/vibe to it. Corby's is downtown and is probably the second most popular; if you walk in and it looks familiar...thats probably because that is where they filmed the bar fight scene in Rudy. There are other bars as well, but the 4 I listed are probably the best.

Other than that, the rest is just your typical Notre Dame stuff: the grotto, Touchdown Jesus, Golden Dome, the lake, etc.. If you haven't been there since 2006, I recommend basically seeing everything and giving yourself the works!

If you have any questions, send me a DM!

Wow, tons of great info here. I really appreciate the time you took to craft this response. My daughter is 19, so we won’t be hitting any bars. I am looking forward to the activities today and tomorrow for sure. A friend from here (western N.Y.) says he parks at Holy Cross area not far from the Golden Dome building. Is that a decent place to park? We are planning on getting to campus at 10-10:30 Saturday morning....

I have a parking pass for White Field, but I try to avoid White Field and the parking areas like HC. Seems it takes forever to get out after the game. Maybe with the rain attendance won't make it a hassle. I usually park at one of the businesses off of 23 and Angela Blvd/Edison just south of the stadium. I pay between $20-$30. It's worth it over free parking at WF IMO.

Weather.com is still calling for 40% chance of showers at 3:00. Predicting 40%-45% throughout the game.

I think what is "best" depends on what you are looking for. Is it ease of getting on the road after the game? Is it closeness to the stadium? Is it tailgating opportunity? Expense? All of those will point you to a different spot.

As Irish#1 mentioned, HC and White can be tough to navigate after the game. Same with Burke. Burke tailgating is really nice though, if you like the aspect of being in grass (with the renovations, Burke has gotten more crowded though). Parking south of campus makes sense getting back on the road after the game. Good option if you don't want to tailgate where you park. There are homes on the east side of campus that does the same.

i've only been there 1x which was last year for the nc state game....i was able to park about 1-2 blocks away in a nice/decent neighborhood at NO COST from eddy commons which is where all decent bars are if you don't have a tailgait gathering and then are right next to the campus

Holy Cross is right across the street from Notre Dame. Holy Cross from the stadium is about a 10 minute walk. More importantly, Holy Cross is where I went to school!

Only downside to parking at Holy Cross is that you have to cross 933, which is a very busy road. The already busy 933 is even busier on game days.

Well that explains a lot! lol

Read an article on 247. While they didn't say it, it reads like BK expects a lopsided win as he's going to limit Hainsey's reps, play Lugg and move Kramer around. Evidently Hainsey is having trouble keeping weight on (currently a little under three bills) and they don't want to wear him out. I didn't catch it, but Lugg got some reps against scUM. He must be impressing the coaches.

I’m not planning on tailgating. We are planning on taking in the sights and activities before the game. My main concerns are ease of finding the parking area, then ease of exit and then cost. I don’t want to complicate things unnecessarily and I am not familiar with the geography at all. One other idea, is taking a shuttle from the hotel..... maybe that solves all the issues?

Don't plan on this happening. Getting out after the Shatagain game took forever.

If you are getting there relatively early (before noon maybe)- I have always had good luck finding free street parking just south of campus. Free and closer than HC/SMC - not horrible to run back and drop stuff off before kickoff if the bookstore beckons.

Ball State blow out will be nothing like leaving Michigan. Close-big game at night has most of 80,000 leaving at the close where afternoon Ball U will have a bunch leave early or stick around campus for mass, meal or whatever.

If you are not staying far, and don't want to set up a tailgate,,, take a shuttle if available and uber back. Or hell, uber there and get dropped off exactly where you want.

Depends on where your hotel is. I know they have a shuttle service downtown now. If you're not staying downtown, I'm unaware of any shuttle services that aren't on campus.

Do you have Uber? A lot of people get an uber and the uber will literally drop you off at the campus entrance.

Be careful where you park though. You're right, its closer and cheaper...but if you park in the wrong neighborhood you might come back to no car.

This seems a bit odd. Moving Kramer around isn't necessarily in anyone's best interest- Kramer, OL, team, and staff. He "auditioned" for the role of OT last year, with the staff essentially deciding he was better suited as a G. He has the makings to be another fantastic G, so I'd think the staff would give him every opportunity to shine there. He kicked out to RT during the game when Hainsey went out (TV made it seem like it was because Hainsey was getting beat, BK said after games it was because of cramps). The weight thing isn't anything new to the staff- Hainsey was under 300 last year too. I'd assume the staff has been well informed of his weight since he set foot on campus, around 20 months ago.

Is this coachspeak for that the staff still hasn't actually decided on their RG/RT combo? Could be. Was Hainsey's not great play Saturday, his cramps/conditioning, and now his weight issue more coachspeak for "we're still evaluating who are best 5 guys are, and maybe we think Lugg is better than Hainsey...at least as a G and then we shift Kramer out to T?"

Don't park supper close to campus as getting out isn't the easiest. After the game take a stroll through campus and take in the sites as well it is beautiful at night after a victory

Maybe a stupid question but doing it anyway. Dish and nbc. At least for my local area are fighting about contracts. So I dont have nbc today. Can I still watch the game on ESPN app.?

Do go a little further in depth...when I watch something on the nbc app or the ESPN app I have to log in to my dish account. Seeing I dont actually get nbc right now will I be able to watch the game.? Any help is appreciated. Gonna have to drive 40 minutes to a friends house if I can't watch it here

It's not an ESPN game so it won't be on the ESPN app. You should be able to stream it on the NBC Sports app. You'd be watching the national NBC Network feed, not your local NBC affiliate.

No ESPN doesn't stream the NBC games. I thought there was a way to stream the games on NBC's website if you have a PC but I can't remember for sure.

I would’ve thought the same, but evidently it does check your region. Dish is fighting with NBC in our region as well. I just downloaded the nbc sorts app and selected the PGA Tour broadcast, it says sorry we don’t have retransmission rights in your region.

I think Cody better plan on driving to his friends.
