Yeah but at the same time they could win 11 games with that schedule.

7-5 seems ... aspirational.

Not sure I'd definitely put Sparty, Maryland and Minny in the W column just yet
Agree - they could drop any of those games, but I also think their defense will be good enough to win a close game @ UCLA or maybe even USC at home. USC is shit on the road.

I actually think Wisconsin is going to be pretty good. Fickle is going to build a stellar defense, Abdu Sama has shown to be a decent P4 running back and Colton Joseph is an excellent running QB. They’re going to be a tougher opponent than people expect based on recent history. I also think they will beat one of Penn St, SC, or Iowa

I was going to say the same thing. Going 4-0 in those last four games, all of which seem like toss-ups, is...optimistic.

I think Sparty will be slightly better than people think. At the very least, Pat Fitz will get them back to what their bread-and-butter identity is: Tough D and running the football. May take a few years but they'll be improved from the Jonathan Smith years I bet. Rutgers and Purdue seem like they are ascending a bit within that lower tier of teams, which Wisconsin is definitely a part of lately.

It's hard to know what Penn State will be. Iowa State East? But that's at their place. Iowa is always tough at home. But maybe they knock off USC which has a long tradition of losing in the Midwest in the latter half of October.
If Wisconsin can find its way back to Wisconsin football, the rest of their Big Ten schedule all feels winnable (though agree they won't win them all). Plus two G5s. 7-5 is certainly doable and they could do better.
We should curbstomp them and then hope for miraculous improvement starting Week Two.

Problem I see with Wisconsin is they went old school run heavy with Joseph and Sama and then didn’t follow through on the OL. Losing starters to IU and Illinois. Same thing on the D. Wow we got these really good linebackers (Mason Posa to ND in 2027?) and safeties but the IDL is a joke. It’s lipstick on a pig with jewels at cheap positions and then not spending on OL/DL.

The schedule is obviously forgiving but yeah 7 - 5 is probably right. I think your dream is 8 - 4 with a home upset of the Trojans

“Forgiving” is putting it lightly, I think it’s safe to say all of their opponents (bar ND) have similarly weak position groups of their own. If they have surprising improvement on one or both lines, suddenly they are the second most complete team on their schedule.

after watching more tape on Joseph, Prister now believes he’ll throw at least 2 picks vs ND. That’s the kiss of death lately from Prister as every time he predicts an opponent’s QB having a bad game (UL 2023, NIU 2024, Miami 2025 for example), the opposite happens or at least they’re a competent game manager. lol!

Bold predictions, but I could see it. One thing with Wisconsin is that they got way behind the 8-ball in NIL and their roster seems certainly overhauled. They added 33 transfers and project to start 12 of them. Brand new secondary, new qb, etc.

Their issue is that they lack "top end" talent. There is not a single guy projected to be a Day 2 pick or better. Colton Joseph is very dangerous, and their RB transfer is good, but I literally do not think that they have a single player that could start for ND. Notre Dame is a 3 TD favorite and I think that's about right, I expect a scoreline something like 31-10.

There are three big 10 teams in most people's preseason top 10, Oregon, Ohio St and Indiana. Wisc doesn't play any of them. They could have a good record and not be very good.
