I remember Big 10 officials saying Armando Allen stepped out of bounds in the Big House

- We are settled at QB.
- You’re CB room is dangerously thin too.
- The ability to “throw the sink” at us as a DC is entirely based on the players grasp of the D and talent at this stage not Knowles really wanting to for some reason?

Fuck him. Men will settle this soon.

This is the definition of click bait.

TB might have a sore arm after the OSU game.

If OSU plays man against Buchner he'll set the Shoe on fire.
I just need him to slide and go down before the contact reaches him when he's gashing the second level.

If you're Knowles and staff, you have to build your entire first quarter game plan to slant your playcalling 75/25 toward stopping the run. Our team will be dangerous if they can establish the ground game. It will open everything else up.

The inverse is less certain. Can Buchner beat a team with just his arm if they have a MLB to spy or they keep guys disciplined on the outside to prevent Tyler from finding a crease? Given last year's highlights, that has to be how you go into this game so it'll portend great things if we are still able to establish the run.

I can't wait to see the first data point on what kind of team we have.

I'd expect the same. Make Buchner beat you with his arm first, load up for the run like OSU did. Buchner hasn't shown he can sling the ball like Coan could, gotta call the bluff.

For the OSU side of things the question would be can their corners hold up, especially if our OL can neutralize the pass rush. I would expect lots of crossing routes and some double moves in our passing game early if they come out in man.

To open up, I wouldn't be surprised to see us give a heavy run look, but throw to the RB, TE or Slot.

Two TE and two RB set.
Reardon, Tyree, Estime, and Mayer.

OSU comes out heavy and we shift to the spread with Tyree in the slot and Reardon wide. Then we can power run or pick them apart with the mismatches.

OSU loses RB Evan Pryor for the year. He was expected to have a bigger role this year. They too have 3 healthy backs.

I hope Day isn't losing too much sleep about the extra ten touches Tre Henderson will get until the other guys get healthy.

He may have to rely on his QB and receivers a bit more in week 1. Are they good?

The biggest factor in this game is going to be Tommy's gameplan/play calling. He has to put points on the board and keep that offense off the field. We have to run the ball, protect the ball, execute in red zone, and all that cliche stuff.

Assuming Buchner's legs and Mayer's skills are enough to keep the chains moving (we have no shot if they don't), the difference between losing a tough game and winning is going to be how Tommy balances the need for a big play vs moving the chains and creativity off the bread and butter plays to hit on big plays. I think he's going to be creative and he's going to attack their lack of speed/talent at linebacker - well timed screens/ QB draws/reverses with Lenzy, play action rollouts to open middle of the field for Mayer and Styles, using Mayer as a decoy to hit Tyree on a wheel if he gets locked up on a LBer. That type of shit. The bigger question is whether or not he shows restraint. He may see something is open but the pace of the game, score, situation calls for showing restraint. It's going to be a delicate balancing act.

Do you even Lorenzo Styles, bro?! OSU players were trying to get him to transfer during the offseason.
Styles is a great young receiver but he's not starting for OSU this year. He'd get some reps to give Harrison and Fleming a blow but that's about it.

Styles and Mayer were the only two offensive players that weren't completely shut down in the 2nd half of that Fiesta Bowl against a very good OSU defense. Styles was actually the highest graded offensive player, followed closely by Big Fish. Defenses are going to really have to account for him this year, hopefully he steps up to the challenge. He's going to surprise a lot of people.

Styles would absolutely have a say and chance to win reps over Harrison Jr, Egbuka or Fleming
He wouldn’t have to beat out one of them. He'd have to beat out 2 of the 3. That's iffy at best. Hopefully he's better than them, but we'll see soon enough.

I’ve heard Fleming is a disappointment.

Styles looks like he'll be a really good player, maybe even great, and he may be a better college receiver than Harrison and Fleming by the time he graduates but I have no reason to believe he'd start over Fleming or Harrison right now. That's just one idiot's opinion
