CFB is so hard to predict. Always interesting to see how the narrative shifts throughout the season.

Teams often stink up the joint against less talented teams.

UGA is a very good football team. Certainly among the top ten teams in the country.

We still want UGA to lose, right? I haven’t thought through all the possibilities

Having them lose a game in the regular season but still win the SEC East would be ideal for me. Then have them lose a second time in the SEC title game.

Sounds like some here have confirmation bias about UGA. No team is perfect, but it’s pretty convenient to talk about how they just can’t be that good because we were competitive (the same that predicted us getting rolled mostly). Maybe we are pretty good, they are very good. We played a bit sloppy and they escaped with a win against us. Having an off day against a mediocre team doesn’t change the talent they have. They seem to have been looking past this team as they’ve been pretty uninspired all game

I’m totally fine with going to the Orange Bowl and beating Wake Forest to get our first major bowl win in over 25 years

Wow!

UGA was just flat in every facet of the game....their OL, Fromm, Blankenship, their D. Ouch.

I wonder if this says anything about UNC? They beat this Gamecocks team in opener and had a chance to knock of Clemson a few weeks ago.

Or it’s just the crazy world of CFB.

I’m totally fine w/ beating SC tonight & worrying about Meatchicken next. UGA just proved nothing is guaranteed.

Freakin' Georgia being Georgia, they're like the Michigan State of the SEC. I'd love to see all the Georgia schmucks now that were talkin' crap online before our game. You just laid an egg against a 2-3 team that was destroyed by Missouri, way to play down to the competition.

Every team but Bama has looked beatable and OSU. It’s hard to get up for every game.

Given how Sparty has looked against Wisconsin, I'm not sure OSU has looked unbeatable either. They just haven't played any good teams to date. Cincinnati is far and away the best team they've played and they are struggling to put away a bad Houston squad.

Lol get what? That you’d rather get a good bowl chance than the best bowl chance?
Yes, because we can win a NY6 bowl game. We cannot win a CFP game. We're closing the gap as a program, but we still have a ways to go before we're worthy of a CFP spot. Unless you've enjoyed getting boat raced in every single elite bowl game we've been in for the last 10+ years...

I'm kind of over the thought of the playoffs this season. Unless Alabama or Clemson get down to their 3rd string QBs, I don't think this year's team could get past either of them. We're a good team, but not national championship caliber. Give me a decent matchup in a NY6 game like others have said.

Sept 21 | Georgia

Analysts were saying UGA has a good win with ND so UGA losing may not hurt us any.

What hurts us is the unknown. Georgia will have plenty of opportunities to right the ship and prove themselves, we dont:

-Georgia game was a loss
-Virginia win was fools gold. They were a fraud
-USC is gonna go 8-4 if everything breaks perfectly for them, which it wont
-Michigan got destroyed already, and will get destroyed again 2+ times before its over
-Stanford is a dumpster fire

Our only baseline game when the dust settles is Georgia, which was a loss. No other game provides any real insight, unless you want to hang your hat on beating a pesky Duke team, or escaping the Big House.

Just win out, then worry... I will say this though, uSC is awful... how'd that happen?? I saw highlights of Fromm making a couple critical terrible throws and Blakenship missing FGs.... must be nice. Against us those two might as well have been Joe Montana and Adam Vinatieri

Sorry, but us making the Playoff would probably be the worst thing that could happen to us. We would almost certainly get taken to the woodshed and the theme of ND being overrated and getting blown out in those big games would haunt us (even more than what they do now). Our offense is simply too limited to give us a shot.

I would prefer to win out, claim we got shafted from the playoffs, win a New Years Day bowl, and have some positive energy going into next year.

Only thing that sucks is that now a one or possibly two loss Georgia beats us out if we have one loss.

a lot of ball left though before those conversations start to happen.

They might honestly not be that good. Their offense is quite self-destructive. I'm a little worried about ND having now watched Georgia play uneven at times since our game with them, and watching UVA's offense stink up the joint. I'm not sure our defense is as good as we think it is, and we all know the offense has flaws.

The play calling was enough to make you crazy if you watched the game. They literally slammed the ball up the middle over and over again without even trying to get to the edge.

It was puzzling to say the least.

It was so bad. I get that Fromm was off and having a terrible game... but they called the same run into the teeth of the defense over and over again while expecting different results. Zero creativity whatsoever.

To add to the conversation. We should be very happy with a NY6. If we win out we wouldn't get in over a 2 loss Big10 or 2 loss SEC champion, I'm pretty sure of this. If we had another shot at a top 10 team and won, then yeah, we'd be in the conversation. Unfortunately all the other teams on the schedule are top 15 at best and it's possible we wouldn't have a win even over a top 20 CFP poll team.
