Delay of game... followed by a timeout just before another delay of game... followed by a simple off tackle for one yard.

comeback from commercial and the ball is snapped when Wimbush is not expecting it; Adams falls on it for a loss of 13.

In the BK era, the season opener has typically been a harbinger of how good or bad that season would end up. The two most comfortable openers were blowout wins of Navy in 2012 & Texas in 2015 which led to BKs two best seasons at ND & his only seasons with double-digit wins.

So what do you need to see in the opener vs Temple to feel good about the season ahead?

Quality question so I'll take a shot.

If this is going to be a good season I'd like to see 250+ yds passing, 225+ yds rushing

I think we should force at least one turnover, we should get at least 3 sacks and we should win field position throughout. Brandon's jersey should be relatively clean.

We should cover the spread. I believe those are modest goals for a good team.

Brian Kelly presser at noon today. That should also mean the official depth chart should be released. I think we already know who the starters are, but it'll nice to have it be official.

I can't believe its game week. I'm pretty nervous. I listened to Power Hour and Temple doesn't seem to be that bad.

the temple beat guy made them sound like the '85 Bears FFS :p

Keep an eye out for the fullback who wears 4, Nick Sharga. He's a NDNation poster's wet dream.

52-0
Second stringers play 4th quarter
4 sacks
2 INT's
675 total yards of offense
Wimbush 15-15, no INT's
450 yards rushing
KO & Punt return for TD's
No sacks given up
Tillery dominant with 8 solo tackles
Temple 50 yards rushing
and Yoon with a 63 yard FG just for good measure

I think that covers it.

The Weather Channel's Long Range Weather forecasts a nice day for the Temple game.

Mostly Sunny
79°/59°
Precip 10% Wind SSE 9 mph Humidity 64%

HOWEVER, The National Hurricane Center's 1 am Advisory 5 Day Forecast "PROJECTS" Harvey to be north of Memphis at 7 pm Friday Night and in the vicinity of Land Between The Lakes by Game Time. Harvey is expected to be around Louisville around 7 pm Saturday with South Bend on the boundary of the cone. It may not impact the game but it could be nasty for the day trippers trying to get home especially those heading east. The NHC projects the storm heading NE along a line from Memphis, L'ville, to Columbus.

I can't believe TWC hasn't yet noticed ND is playing in SB on Saturday. ND has attracted the last two sub-tropical events like a magnet and after a 4-8 season... it's now its own mega-depression that is sure to suck in a comparatively minor depression like Harvey into its vortice.

When that happens, I predict Wimbush will be 19-62 for 158 yds and 4 Int's.

Yeah I think that Temple beatwriter was full of shit most of the time. Before he named a player for Temple, he'd always list their height and weight as if it was supposed to be super impressive lol. He confidently said that their OLB was 220 pounds and their center was 290; I was thinking to myself "is that supposed to be good?" lol.

But we'll see on Saturday. I do agree that they have a good secondary and that will be a good test for Wimbush and the receivers

TIL they got a guy who plays WR and Defensive End as a pass rusher which sounds like of neat.

He's their Claypool

If it makes anyone feel better, this vaunted Temple defense with a first round pick on their dline got 34 hung on them in their bowl game with Wake Forest, who ranked 120th in scoring O. The 34 points was 2 touchdowns above their season average of 20.4 ppg.

This is what worries me. Need to jump off to quick start this season. Need a big win Saturday, and a win over Georgia. If that happens, I think the confidence is back and we can have a good - great season.

At least, I'm slightly encouraged that we have a new coaches. I think that will clear out a lot of the "defeated" attitudes.

I'm sure the NBC broadcast will do their best to not pander to the dumber contingents of our fan base.

haha, i actually remember this kid and he is indeed a beast. he's looks like clay matthews playing fullback complete with a sick flow that should grace the Minnesota State High School Hockey tournament.

Clay Matthews does not have a sick flow.

Not surprising, but no Stepherson on the depth chart for Temple.

I want to see a clean well managed game. I understand it's the first real game for our QB so I know there will be some errors. Imo it's to early to say how the D-line and O-line will play this year but I hope with the new strength And conditioning program we see better production.

So both transfer WRs are starting? That's surprising.

Can't wait to watch two 18 year old DTs tackle Chubb.

Yeah, I was really hoping MDT could step it up. That has me much more worried.

Doesn't it probably say more about the juniors?

Yeah, they're 3 stars turned 3 star apparently. Juniors in the system and get beat out by a couple of kids who could buy cigarettes starting last week.

If we're bringing in 5-star freshman DT's this would be more ideal, but we're bringing in guys that need time. This is really concerning, and I feel bad for Nyles because he's going to have a tougher time doing his job when we're playing 18 year olds right in front of his face.

Like Sampson tweeted, DT is a man's position.

Can someone again remind me of the argument for not sliding Jay Hayes inside to spell Bonner? They are the exact same size. Hayes probably more athletic. And that way you can put both Trumbetti and D Hayes on the field at the same time. Also takes some pressure off the freshmen in the middle.
