The redzone offense is atrocious. there were a lot of points left on the field.
There is something weird going on with Chip Long. Because we know exactly what makes this offense work, but choose not to do it sometimes. This offense can be good, we just choose not to call an entire game suited towards that. It’s incredibly bizarre.
I was, wrongfully, more optimistic about our WR’s but this group is not good.
I thought Wimbush played a decent game considering how it was called. He got very little help from his WR’s. Stanford is scoring a lot of their points on 50/50 balls to WR/TE’s. Their group just makes the plays. Not our group.
Run game much improved. Shocker, thats what happens when you run the QB.
The non holding calls is a VERY serious issue. It’s completely changing the game for our defense. We’d be off the field for so many of those plays if they were called the last two weeks. The hold on Okwara is such a terrible call that something needs to be done. Kareem got taken out of a couple plays, again, today because of it.
At home we have the opposing coach “working” the officials with the game on the line. I don’t think that should factor in to home field advantage, necessarily, but it’s working against us. This is gross.
I thought the OL was better today. One issue that is apparent though. Kraemer is not very good at pulling. Jamie at ISD brought this up in the spring because we do it so much and he wasn’t sure Kraemer would be able to execute it. This offense loves to pull the guards and Bars at RG last year was good at it. Kraemer not so much. And, the problem is, it’s not sustaining blocks, it’s not making blocks at all. Sometimes way too slow to get there. On one he just fell down in front of the DL, lol.
Yoon can’t miss that kick. Game would feel a little different at the end had he made a remedial kick. JD, improves his kickoffs as the game went on, that was good to see.
