ESPN "experts" predicting ND will lose to Purude and/or ND would lose to Purdue in West Lafayette but might eek this one out:

Also apparently struggle with math at the end there.

Lol. Was that one of those mythical 4-5 point field goals? Think Brindza has the leg for it?

I'm pretty sure that there is a new rule that you get four points for 50+ yd FGs and five points for 60+ yd FGs. That must be what he meant.

Oh, that is just my fantasy football league? My bad. Nevermind.

Haven't you guys read the rules this year? The NCAA now gives you four points for a field goal against an irrelevant team, and five if they have criminals.

The timing of the flight will have absolutely no impact on the game. For Christ's sake, they'll get back later from MSU than they will the Ireland game. If we lose it's because Purdue is better/better coached.

Some people act like it's OMM out there :). These kids are 20!

I agree that the flight doesn't matter, but I disagree strongly with your second point. I said earlier in this thread that I'm not worried about Purdue, I'm worried about us no-showing. Purdue is not good enough to beat us if we play anywhere near a decent game. Unless we throw up an all-time bad effort (like the USF game last year), we'll be fine. That is the only way Purdue can win this game.

I think that plays into my point of being 'outcoached'. If BK doesn't have these guys 'up' for the season opener, that's on him. To be clear, I in no way expect to lose this game. I'm taking ND with the -14.5.

Good article by the fellas over at ISD. I agree completely.

Why The Irish Will Roll Purdue

Sorry if it has already been noted.

Right there with you. Literally my only reservation, and its a minor one at that, is Golson. However, I realize that the need for Golson wot win the game is based on the ability of ND to run the ball. All said, when I really reflect on it, my concern is really deep rooted scars from 2007-2010.

Agree 100% with that statement. If we all take a step back and look at this game, we should have zero concern. Although, since we have all been through it over and over and over again, it makes us nervous to think about losing to a far inferior team this weekend. We know it's possible because we've witnessed it enough! Time for us to prove we can smash the inferior teams week in and week out. Can't wait for an Irish victory on Saturday!

BK - Irish practiced in the stadium today. Will be a new weekly ritual.

Kelly on kicking game: I think problems last week were more about nerves and settling in first time...(first time actually trying to return it)

Grass held up well during practice in stadium

Kelly says ND doesn't have a clear number 2 QB between Rees and Hendrix....(not a positive thing to say towards Andrew)

Both are ready however. Saw good things from Rees. Has the mental down, but needs mechanics.

Kelly: I think the place will go crazy in our defense gets opponents off the field.

We tested team on Tuesday, but backed-off Wed and Thursday. Made sure guys didn't have dead legs. All signs look good.

Next step for Golson is to function making good reads of defense.

Kelly: we've had to prepare for everything and we have this week (on facing Purdue with new defensive scheme this season)

Kelly on red shirting Amir Carlisle, we're counting on playing him, but we're leaving options open for a number of guys.

Kelly: O-lineman helping Golson know what offensive calls need to be made during game (awesome having a veteran line...awesome)
