We've done a lot of scripting of plays and have good communication (he and offensive coordinator Chuck Martin)

Kelly calls plays and others communicate through him during games.

Wife made second run through cancer and has made it five years. Celebrated on Tuesday.....awesome news.

"You can't have them up there eating hotdogs" Kelly on his OC being active in the booth with play suggestions.

Im not worried about our O at all (ND will crush em) I am only concerned about Irish defensive backfield...

I'm not gong to be worried about our secondary this game. I am so high on our front 7 and I think they will bring consistent pressure on the quarterback, which will help the secondary

Guess who Mark May picked to win? Of course, he picked Purdue. I hope we built the living **** out of Purdue on Saturday. Well I am guess I am a little late but whatever. I guess someone else is watching Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

May is a certified hater. He was almost laughing when he made that prediction. I hope sPitt loses 40-0 tonight and we cover on Saturday. He's almost as senile as Lou. Almost.

This team has something to look forward to in this game. A lot of pundits are picking Purdue and Purdue thinks this is their year to beat ND. Bulletin board material. This team should be ready to lay the smack down on Purdue.

Mark May picking against ND every week isn't even fun anymore. I used to get so mad when he would pick against ND but honestly who cares anymore? He will do it for the rest of his life. Wish Holtz would just pop him in his mouth one day.

Who else picked Purdue?

Herbstreit was just saying he thinks ND is on upset alert also at the end of the Pitt Cincy game. Said how Purdue has been running the ball a lot better the last few years (pfffft, bring it) and how ND coming back from Ireland- long trip and everyone telling them how good they are, said we could be in trouble.

Can you blame them? We suck when ranked recently, we showed signs of inexperience in the 2ndary, Purdue (a passing team) played good in week 1. Who cares. Screams from the haters has a great ring to it. Bring it on!

Take care of business and they'll be talking about MSU on upset alert next week.

And **** Michigan.

This is coming on the heels of Kiper naming Tuitt the best DL in CFB, and Jesse Palmer giving us a glowing review after the Navy game.

Don't get suckered. It's all for the ratings.

Sporting News ND 2for 2 - but close

College football picks Week 2: Predictions for USC, LSU, Georgia - NCAA Football - Sporting News

Purdue at No. 22 Notre Dame, 3:30 p.m., NBC

Hayes: Notre Dame 19, Purdue 17. Purdue may as well be an NFL defensive front compared to Navy. In fact, the Boilermakers have a couple of future NFL draft picks on the front, including star DT Kawann Short. Notre Dame won’t run as well, and pressure from Purdue will affect the ND passing game.

Greenberg: Notre Dame 24, Purdue 17. Bingo on Purdue’s D, Matt—it’s an underrated unit. The whole team may be underrated. I can think of a bunch of coaches who’d be happy to have Danny Hope’s quarterbacks. This is a challenge for ND, but the Irish still have better players overall. And Purdue always seems to have trouble closing games.

Game predictions 090612 - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

Adam Rittenberg: I'd pick Purdue if the game were in West Lafayette, and I expect Notre Dame to start slowly after the long trip to Ireland. But the Irish have a more dynamic offense than the Boilers, and Purdue's defense will start to show some cracks in the third quarter against Everett Golson. Both Caleb TerBush and Robert Marve see plenty of snaps in this one for the Boilers. ... Notre Dame 27, Purdue 21

Brian Bennett: Every time Notre Dame does something good, it usually backslides. So I see the Irish faltering after their strong performance in Dublin. Purdue is due, and Kawann Short dominates defensively and blocks a field goal for the win. ... Purdue 28, Notre Dame 24

I still can't get over the fact that we rushed for over 250 yards against them last year, and they have lost their leading tackler on defense. I remember reading something earlier, which may have been posted on here, that Short was a non-factor last year against us. Obviously players get better, and sometimes diamonds in the rough are hiding on the depth chart.

I just don't see their defense dominating our offensive front in any way. They may get some plays downfield utilizing the passing game, but it will be a long day when they are one-dimensional. More than likely we will be able to stuff their running game with our talented front seven. Hopefully we are able to generate a decent pass-rush and keep their quarterbacks off-balance the entire game. This will tip the scale in our favor I believe, and we will prevail in the end.

Saturday is almost here!

That Purdue pregame that was a couple pages back had almost all picks for ND by Purdue fans and writers.
