I expect we'll see a lot less freshmen next week. I wonder if we played so many of them today to give Michigan more to think about/plan for. This will be a tough game, we're going to need some chunk plays on offense like we got today against Temple.
That sucks. If you're really desperate, you can watch on adhte.com. It has almost every game of any sport. At the beginning, you'll get a ton of pop ups that you'll have to find the hidden X for... But after a while you'll only get a pop up every minute or two.
It's not a great option, but you won't get a virus. And it's free.
Edit: it might be .net, not sure.
I think they all played because their number was called on the depth chart and/or they are on special teams units. I don't think the special teams units would change from week to week unless there are changes based on performance that the coaches want to make.
We probably see less of a WR or two with Daniels healthy, but Robinson will likely log good minutes regardless. Jaylon will start. Rochell is on the 2nd DL and will be asked to contribute. Similar situation with Luke.
I think we saw so many freshman today because they're simply going to be contributors this year. Their minutes may be lessened if it's a tight game, but the best players are going to play.
Edit: It will be interesting to see if Bryant and Folston play meaningful (i.e. when the game is close) minutes next week. With respect to those two guys, I agree with your statement about seeing less freshmen. I don't think they'll play unless we have a comfortable lead like today against Temple.
Agree entirely.
It kinda seemed like the Temple gameplan was vanilla with playing time spread around.
Mainly because we jumped ahead early, and the game was "in hand"
For the skunkbears, I would expect Jaylon, Corey, and MAYBE Bryant
Do we really expect Cam McDaniel to get that many carries against our better opponents? I was hoping to see more of Amir, but figured BK limited his carries to maintain his health.
Just watched the 1st half of the Michigan game:
- Their kick off coverage looks really good.
- Their DL is faster than ours, and they get good pressure but IDK how strong Central Michigan is up front.
- Let's not kick or punt to #23.
- LBs fill hard and fill fast. They're undersized weight wise, but you wouldn't know that from their film.
- Corners seem to play relatively soft, which allows for 'dink and dunk'
- Garner will kill us with 20 yard scrambles if we do not contain. I mean, kill us, especially with our slow LBs.
- Garner does not go through his progression. I mean at all. I've replayed each pass attempt, and not one time in this half have his eyes made it to a second option. He literally stares down a WR, and if it's not open, he scrambles and scrambles well.
- Funchess will be an all-American if they run him against our LBs.
- Their OL is much better than I was hoping.
- I really wish they didn't beat us out for Jarrod Wilson. He's a ballar.
You're welcome for that analysis (Post game thread).
Seriously though, completely agree on Devon. He reminded me of Denard.
#23 is Norfleet and I hope he doesn't touch the ball.

Reps for the analysis, even if it is making more uncomfortable than I already am over this game. I may be slugging antacid instead of whiskey next Saturday.
Frankly, I think we play him much like we played Denard.
Don't let him run or break contain. Force him to throw and it will be picks galore.
Is it weird that I'm nervous already?

I'm not sure I get this statement. 1) you are comparing a 4-3 to a 3-4, so you have smaller dline players vs. large players in a 34. 2) Tuitt will run a faster 40 time than any Michigan dline player 3) Probably Shembo too 4) Wake me up when Michigan has 2 first round talents on the dline this year like ND.
Look we looked bad on defense last game, but suddenly our DL is slower than Michigan's? The little I watched from the Michigan game, I just didn't see the NFL talent we have on the DL.
Personally, I think the ESPN analysis of "speed" needs to stop.
I know that. And their DL is faster IMO.
I doubt you know enough about Michigan's front line to say that. No offense.
Who said anything about them being better??? I said they look faster than ours.
IMO it's pretty obvious. I watched both games at least once (most plays I watched twice).
Actually I do know enough and don't agree that they are "faster". I watched the first half, which was enough for me to see.
Might be good to lay off the ESPN analysis for a while.
I'm not using 'ESPN analysis'. I actually watched the Michigan game on mute, lol, but nice try.
I don't care if you disagree. That's awesome that you have an opinion, but I think you're wrong.
ScooterIrish;1102331[B said:]It is an ESPN analysis[/B]. You made a lazy broad statement with nothing to back it up. Why do you think they are faster?
It's great that you also have an opinion too. Good job bro.
