Best NBA writer that I read. FWIW, Bill Simmons' podcast (BS Report) is pretty awesome. He's pretty funny in it and typically has some pretty good guests: Lowe, "Cousin Sal", heck he even had Seth Myers on a few weeks ago. I find it informative too.

Agreed. The more I see the replay, the more annoying it was to have had the call made in the first place. Gardner was jogging at angle toward the ballcarrier, and would have attempted a tackle had he not been legally blocked at the front shoulder and chest. That flag was not about being a legal or illegal hit - it was about an official saying it's not ok to lay the lumber on a china doll QB.

Max is a badass, plain and simple. If you go back, aside from laying our Gardner, there was a point right at about 8:40 left in the 3rd qtr where Michigan ran the ball and Max came up from his safety position and a few feet away from the play just laid into a Michigan OL and planted him on his backside right as the whistle blew. Obviously the kid loves to hit and even as a young player and first year started isn't going to be intimidated or shy away from anything.

He is also almost always the first player there to pump somebody up after a big play, or lend a hand to help one of his big uglies on D off the ground at the end of a play. This kid is already emerging as a leader and in my opinion embodies everything Brian Kelly is looking for in his players.

Also did anyone else notice when Zaire was in the game at the end and Mayock was talking about his performance against Rice...he was talking about Malik's long run and said something like "When he took off he looked like he was shot out of a cannon, then at the end of the run looked like he was carrying the cannon".

I thought it was funny.

Barely got around to rewatching.

Joe Schmidt hits like a linebacker should.

He scared to fuck out of me before the season but he has become one of my favorites to watch this year.

He's been a Godsend this year. Imagine if we were fielding a true freshman there without his leadership and instincts?

LOL near the end of the half, Michigan had a 4th and 1 in Miami territory, lined up to go for it... and got a delay of game penalty. Judging by the coaches' reactions, it wasn't planned.

"Yakety Sax" should be Michigan's fight song.
