For me ...

Hayes and Crawford on D

ESB and Folston on O

Agree. I'm interested in seeing the whole secondary, even Sebastian (for better or for worse).

I want to see how our LBs look now that Joe and Jaylon are out. Want to see if Nyles Morgan can finally be what we've all been hoping.

Want to see if our DL can get pressure and stop the running game.

Can our WRs get open/make catches/get yards after the catch?

How does Dexter do with his first touches. It's hard to explain but I'm expecting Dexter to explode onto the scene. I think Folston will be solid/consistent, I think Adams will be great again but I'm hoping Dexter makes them both work to maintain that starting spot.

Can our OL gel early?

Can our QBs split time and stay engaged?

So. Many. Questions.

I don't blame people for picking Texas, I think it's based more on image than fact but it's hard to fault them if they are looking for an upset pick.

Who cares who the "experts" pick? These guys going against ND also picked LSU, MissSt, chOklahoma, Northwestern and on and on.

One player on each side of the ball I'm looking forward to seeing:

Offense: Q
Defense: Daelin Hayes

I like havoc. The players I want to see unleash holy wrath are McG and Q on the mere mortals lined up across from them and Cruise Missle #5. I have ZERO doubt Morgan will look like the Bama LB's looked against SC last night... blowing people up. He may not be in the right gap every time and I don't care as long as he's hitting someone wearing the other colors. I have a feeling he'll be the human highlight reel equivalent to what Will Fuller was last year.

Mostly though, I'm excited to see Malik back on the field, healthy and competing and may the best man win. I'm watching the game with jojoblack today so whatever happens, it will be interesting for sure. lol

I think our defense and BVG is going to be a big shock to us all this year. If you look back at BVG at UGA, year 3 everything seemed to click. I have a weird feeling the same thing is going to happen this year for us. ND tonight by 14

I think you're right. I got a lot more confident in this idea when I watched all the individual coach and player interviews on media day. I think Nyles knows what to do and I think Tranquill will be the QB in the back end. Drew is the best student academically on the team

I think you're spot on about Drew, last year in the game he got hurt....I remember thinking he was an absolute monster. I'm excited to see how he does, hope we are comparing him to Zibby pretty quick. I also like the under for all you other gamblers out there.

Oh man.......I LOVED Zibby. Tranquill was a MONSTER last year against GT and people go talking about being worried about his ability. If he stays healthy he will silence all doubters IMO

And pretty much every gambling sharp is saying take Texas and the points. The consensus is that we aren't going to win, because Texas is at home with a talented team and experts think we take a step back losing all the NFL talent we did last year.

So we lost talent but we gained talent. Texas was horrible last year and though they should be improved with a year under their belts, but I guess I missed the part where ND lost all their talent and therefore can't compete with Texas. Our recruiting classes have been really good the last few years and due to injuries last year young players got a lot of experience. Obviously there is a chance we lose but what am I missing that makes Texas the better gamble?

If you're right about the defense we should win by more than 14.

I hear ya man. I slept in as late as I could. Going to go out for some beers to take the edge off and kill some time so I don't explode. I'm so damned excited. Can't wait to see this new squad. So many new starters this year compared to previous years.

What I don't get is how we're now 5 pt. favorites on the road, yet everyone is picking against us? Those numbers don't match up. Vegas is usually pretty spot on.

My thoughts exactly. RT for example. We had to slide McGlinchey over (maybe the best OT in the country) an we replace him with Alex Bars, a guy who has played a bunch via injury. Former UA all-American, 6'6 315. Same goes to a lot of positions. We lost KR at corner. Replacing him with Crawford, top 247 corner who would've started at nickel last year who had a crazy offer list. ESB....Nyles....Mustipher.....CJ......I can't wait. Come on GAMETIME!!!

NDFanVan's starting a new national tradition: Molson's College Football Night in Canada.

The question is, what will he look like after the game? This?

latest

Man I love the positive vibes you bring to this board.

Please stay out of this thread between the hours of 7:30 and 11:30 - you will hate it...

Yeah. Who gives a shit if we lost a bunch of guys to the NFL. If BK and his team is truly a top 10 team, the guys who are replacing 2015 starters will be just fine. For some reason ESPN thinks we replaced them with a bunch of Joe Schmidts.

Also every single analyst keeps bringing up the QB battle like we are picking between Tommy Rees and Dayne Crist. We're not, we have two really good viable options. Plus of any coach I trust BK who took Tony Pike and some other schmuck to an undefeated season using a QB carrousel.
