Anyone been to a game at Syracuse where they actually care about the opponent? What is the crowd like? I know its at Met, but what does that atmosphere translate like? I know we had issues at Pitt last year with the night game...

Syracuse is about 4 hours away from Met Life stadium. There isn't a large Syracuse base in NYC. This will be an away game for Syracuse in regards to crowd, id guess 10k will be cuse fans

No longer going to this one, oh well. I'll look to catch the Navy game.

What are you talking about. There is a huge amount of Syracuse Alumni in the tri-state area. ND will have more fans, but closer than you think.

Aside from Navy in Dublin, every Notre Dame road game has been at night since September of 2011.

I also hate the night games. For a 3:30 game, I'm still going strong in the 4th quarter, not so for the 8 pm game.

y'all stop complaining, 8pm ET kickoff means a 1am start time for me :(

Just hit the pub at opening, leave early (I know,I know – easier said than done), take a little nap, and then head into the breach one more time.

I expect tickets will be available and a large IRISH crowd but there's something like 60,000 Syracuse alumni in NY City alone. And about 5,000 Syracuse students from NYC.

The only way this isn't a ND crowd is if Gerry McNamara and Carmelo show up with Jim Boeheim coaching.
Not basketball season, Syracuse is almost as bad as IU... Almost.

I will be the only ND fan in a sea of Buckeye fans... they might tie me up to keep the channel on the boring waste of a game the Bucks are playing that night

lee-corso1.jpg

pOSU plays UC that night... could be a shootout. UC has the QB and the WRs to throw the ball on just about anyone with success. If UC can get a run game going enough to make pOSU respect it, it'll be a high-scoring game.

I have no hope that UC's defense will slow down pOSU's athletes, unless Silverberry Mohoun and Co. have a good night rushing the passer (might be possible, considering VT's success).

Go Bearcats.

Syracuse is a little better than I thought this game may be thougher than Purdue was. We still need some revenge for 08.

The 1am start time is ok. The5am finish is the problem.

I don't know. You guys get to watch the kickoff after last call. Watch the game without wife and family, and without obnoxious Trojan, Walmart Wolverine, and SEC neighbors. Sing the alma mater as the sun rises. And you live in Ireland.

I'm pretty happy with it. I love night games. I'll be watching at a weekend bachelor party, trying to wrestle the remote away from the OSU fans witnessing their team get drubbed by Cinci. Hopefully that'll be a laugher and there'll be no contest by kickoff.

Urban Meyer is 26-3 at Ohio State and you think it'll be a laugher, at home with a late kickoff, against a Cincinnati squad that looked good, offensively, against Toledo?

Air Force was a 5 pm eastern KO. Primetime or not that was last year

Yeah. Air Force was definitely a day game. Probably b/c it was on some third-tier cable offshoot of CBS that I had to order just to watch the damn thing. Who's televising this one? (apologies if it's at the top of the thread or something).

Back around 1990 I was in Ireland. I was in a B&B in Limerick and was suffering something of reverse jet lag. I couldn't sleep so after wife (and everyone else there) had gone to sleep I turned on the TV in the lounge. Flipping through the channels I found, much to my delight, The ND –USC game being broadcast live on some channel.

No distractions! It was wonderful.

Except that I had no beer and couldn't yell.

Here is where I come in.

Toledo basically has no defensive backfield, and half their offensive skill playing.

Cinci-Toledo was not a test of anything.

It was Cinci's first game of the season. And in addition to having fresh legs, they came out of the game unscathed.

I do not believe they were firing on all cylinders.

And I believe Cinci has a passion to knock off the Buckeyes. Kind of like OSU's Purdue.

With proper prep UC could do it. I will be rooting for them too!
