Surely those 3 teams did better than 2 - 3 with wins over the Big 12 and ACC, right?

It's annoying (but understandable) that the second a coach lands in the SEC he immediately carries water for the agenda.

With respect to football progeny, I largely got over feeling old a long time ago, but Bama sophomore Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was just arrested. His daddy was just drafted as an early entry in 2012. That threw me for a loop.
Yeah, Sr. was 15 when his kid was born. Kid's now probably looking for a new school as DeBoer has suspended him indefinitely for being a dumbass. He was speeding and driving recklessly on The Strip while it was crowded. Cops tried to stop him and he took off, causing them to have to jump out of his way to avoid being run over. Apparently this wasn't the first time they've had issues with him in the area. It's all misdemeanor stuff - reckless driving, eluding, speeding, failure to comply, etc. - but I'm betting he's gone. Third string DB's with behavior issues are no big loss.

Sounds like a good fit for Georgia

At this point why don't they just have their own playoff so they can crown themselves champs every year.
The SEC has four teams who would qualify today? I guess Ole Miss beating Washington State by three points at home proves that Florida State's undressing of Alabama was a freak accident.

Look, you can certainly make the case that like...6 teams deserve to be there this year, but half your conference does not belong in the playoffs, especially after they underperformed last year.

Get the fuck out of here.

Just shows how dumb the sec is.
I don’t disagree, but I’m not too sure we should be casting stones right now. We lost our only two big games this year (one being a SEC team). Beating the likes of Boston College, Navy, Syracuse, Pitt, arguably the worst SEC team, Arkansas, Syracuse … all while not playing a championship game …
I feel like we should be in sit down, shut up, and win quietly mode.

Right, and I wasn't really saying the above as an ND fan, just as a college fan in general. Obviously right now you can make the case that A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and Ole Miss are all pretty deserving of being in (For now). After that...maybe a Texas is deserving since they're ranked 10th, or either OU/Vandy depending on how their final games shake out. Obviously some of those teams will fall in the final weeks and they'll no longer be in contention. 8 teams getting into a 12 team playoff? Nah, no fuckin' way! Most of that is settled on the field already during the regular season. No more than 4, maybe 5 from any one conference should really be getting in, and that's really only if the rest of the teams end up being ass that year. On average it should be ~3 SEC, ~3 B1G, 1-2 ACC, 1-2 Big 12, and 2-4 At Large with those remaining spots from G5/ND..

Yeah that Bama team that didn’t get in last year sure showed the world that was a mistake by…losing to a bad Michigan team in a bowl game

Oh they'll get 4-5 teams this year, it just wont be sorry ass Texas
I'm no Texas fan - living in Houston can be trying at times, but *if* they win out, they are most certainly getting in. Now, don't get me wrong, I think they lose 2 out of their remaining 3, but I'll give them props for an absolute beast of a schedule:

@ #1 Ohio State
#11 OU
#13 Vanderbilt (feels weird typing that)
@ #5 Georgia
#3 A&M

Yeah 10-2 with wins over Georgia, OU, Vandy, and A&M would be hard to ignore. Luckily I don't see them beating either Georgia or A&M

Sure, totally agree if they win out they are in. Just saying, after watching them, I'd be shocked if they don't finish 8-4. They should have lost to msst and have looked mediocre all year except against Vandy (I didnt watch the Oklahoma game, but am not too impressed with them either). I could certainly be wrong and have to eat my words. Seems Sarkisian knows more loses are likely and is already trying to create a narrative to excuse his squandering of talent...

Never understood why Tennessee wasn't a better historical program. Beautiful area that connects to a ton of the other SEC states without being too hot ALL the time (unlike say Louisiana and Florida). University isn't terrible either.
Strange fact: U of Tennessee almost never gets a QB from Tennessee. Would indicate the state isn’t putting out many good ones which would help explain why they are underachieving.

Not a Kirby fan but I have to admit he cooked here.

Great answer but that question was so weird it makes me think it was set up. When have you ever heard of a player leaving a program and the reason given was "They didn't like the physicality of the practices"?
