It will definitely be the highest attended game of the season but with it being an 11 a.m. game combined with the fact that this is about as apathetic as Arkansas fans have been for a season, it wouldn’t surprise me if it falls short of expectations. The hype around the game still doesn’t seem to the level that 2021 Texas was (the year before they joined the SEC) and that atmosphere was as good as any in college football. Things have just gotten pretty stale in year 6 for Pittman.
Hook me up with some tickets! I’m in Tulsa and plan on going.

My good friend told me some yahoos on Drive Time Sports crying about the time blaming ND. How idiotic. That’s all decided by the SEC & they definitely have better matchups for prime time (Alabama VS LSU IIRC). It may actually help Arkansas b/c I could see ND not taking them seriously and sleep walking through that game. The heat will be miserable & it’ll be at its worst that time of day. Arkansas will be sky high for this game & the fans will be too (regardless of start time). Maybe Bo Mattingly’s show is more informed but I refuse to listen to Drive Time Sports. The hosts & the callers (for the most part) are the most ignorant CFB fans I’ve ever heard. They have no clue what occurs outside of their echo chamber.

Yeah, being the only major team (college or pro) in the state does lead to a lot of that sort of thing. It means the fans are as passionate and loyal as they come but the downside is there’s very little context or knowledge of other teams since it’s all sunshine pumping for the Hogs in the local media 24/7. You get a lot of people who have probably never even been to Fayetteville too.

Isn't the 2:30 kickoff usually hotter than the 11am? I prefer games earlier in the day rather than later.

Yeah I get it. Been here 50 years so I get the ”only major team” concept. It’s why I ended up losing interest in NFL & NBA. I am far from a trash talker but all my friends know how much I love ND sports & I will never hear the end of it if Arkansas pulls the upset which I can definitely see happening if Green is on his game & ND sleep walks like they have in previous losses to underdogs

Humidity will suck but it’s 11am in very late September. We looked like the more conditioned team at aTm last year. I’d be surprised if we are bothered by the weather

People worry wayyyy too much about the heat. .

It gets hot in middle america. It's not constant obviously but it's whatever. It's not like cold where you need to acclimate. Even elevation to me is a much bigger deal.

There’s a good chance the humidity will be lower since it’s in late September as well 🤞🏼

Again, why should Indiana, of all teams, be held to a higher standard?

No way ND snoozes on an SEC team. Even teams like Ark

This comparison would work if the SEC wasn’t significantly better than the Big 10, which it definitely is. I hate the SEC as much as the next guy, but The B10 has 4 competent programs, and a bunch of mediocre teams.

Indiana is hiding behind the B10 shield bc they are pussying out of a P4 game. The entire conference is wimps.

That wimpy conference just won 2 straight national championships. You can say the SEC is front loaded just as easily.

Issue is even if you think the SEC is great now, they really weren't always so but still scheduled soft outside of conference. It could be argued that decades of doing so helped the conference collectively appear stronger due to their W-L records.

Hell, the SEC has only had 5 teams win the conference since 1964 or something like that. It isn't exactly a deep conference itself.

Ok Paul Finebaum. You are literally using the hillbilly 'you know those boys beat up on each other' argument. And you're doing it to attack Ohio State or Michigan? Umm no, Indiana. Come on now, you know the Big Ten beats up on each other.

Year in and year out, the SEC was always about 4 teams and then everyone else. Alabama fans literally have shirts with a huge elephant rolling its eyes as about 15 other mascots are hanging on and chanting 'SEC, SEC!'

Tell how amazing Mizzou, Ark, Miss St, Ole Miss, UT, Auburn(save one Cam Newton season), UK, vandy, SCar, have been consistently. By the way, the last two national championships have been played between Big Ten teams and another team in the heartland.

Imagine that, everybody is playing by the same rules now.

The advanced stats say every single year that the SEC is better than the big 10. It is what it is.

Here is the median FPI rank by conference. While the B10 has a higher top end, the median team has a rating that ties the B12. SP+ reflects the same thing.

SEC: #18 (LSU and Florida)
B12: #40 (Baylor and Texas Tech)
B10: #40 (Nebraska and Illinois)
ACC: #54 (Cal)

Off the top of my head, I can think of 6 since 1998 (Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee). Historically, that's half the conference's make up.

In the past 25 years give or take, do you want me to go ahead and start posting pictures of Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee (and now), Texas and Oklahoma hoisting trophies? That's literally 1/2 the league and I'm afraid that I'm forgetting someone ...

This big 10’s pig behavior with the 9 conference games and no strong OOC scheduling is also very bad for ND, and they are effectively trying to push us into their conference through scheduling issues.

Fuck them.

I don't count texas or OK winning for the SEC anymore than PSU or USC winning titles for the BIG. We can both play that game. We know UT won one in the 1990's.

The point stands. It's always been a 4 team league at the top of some varying teams and then everyone else.

I think the stat is 6 teams have won since 1964. Interpret it any way you see fit.
