It's all of them, a stiff brick of cold cheese and stale buns are a corner stone of every Wendy's I've ever eaten at... maybe it's a Cali thing? I don't believe I've eaten at a Wendy's outside of Cali.

The chili seasoning thing really rubbed me wrong too... lol

I like their spicy chicken sandwich, with cheese. And frostys. That is about it. I really hate their lettuce, always a big core or whatevere you call it running through the middle.

Wendy's is underrated. New menu has upped the quality substantially. Burgers are light years better than McDs or the King. Chocolate Frosty can't be beat. Jr Bacon Cheeseburger rocks. Some of the franchises need to get with the program but overall grossly underrated.

Don't understand Chipotle to save my life. Anyone could reproduce that model, we have two chains very similar around here (Moe's and Qdoba). If I was in restaurant biz I would tweak that menu and open a shop just like it. Can't believe they average $2 million per store of sales. They are my last choice for burritos.

Taco John's is the biggest hidden gem of the Midwest though.

Yes, that's pretty much how I feel about it. I will still eat at Chipotle occasionally because the food isn't "gross" like the competing options may be in a given situation, but it is bland. I work in an area where there are so many amazing Mexican places that I am ruined forever on Chipotle.

This is how I feel about Panda Express.

Yeah, must be a Cali thing. Wendy's started in Ohio, that might have something to do with it as far as distribution and standards. Then again, maybe you guys are spoiled on places like 5 Guys or something. In Ohio Wendy's is generally considered one of the better fast food burger chains...not that it's hard to be above the competition when you're talking McDonalds, Rally's, Burger King, etc. They were selected in Zagat's for best fast food burger chain for a number of years I think.

This brings up an interesting point. Why go to Wendy's if you're in California?

Hate Five Guys. Rather drink a quart of grease with some salt added. And yes, Zagat's consistently has Wendy's rated best (arguably, of the worst).

Interesting, I've never met anyone who didn't like Five Guys before, it's not really fast food the way all other discussed here are, but it's really good imo.

Hahahaha, man that Selma post is really bringing in the reps!

Kelly has his pressed in about an hour. Will know more then, I guess.

I doubt he'll have anything to say. Would certainly surprise me if he doesn't just tow the company line (students and their families can comment, etc. etc.). I have a hard time believing Philip Daniels would be this quiet if they had been informed.

More fat = a better burger, Five Guys wins for sure.

I personally like Hardee's hamburgers, think others have Carl's Jr...same thing, I beleive.

They are the same thing. It's just regional branding (NASCAR v. non-NASCAR).

By the same logic, a slab of bacon grease on a bun would be a "better burger". Grease dripping everywhere is not enjoyable to me. You need a freaking shower after being in that place. Fries are a soggy mess too.

I've cut down on my red meat intake. When I go for a good burger I would rather pay a little bit more and hit one of our local restaurants that really do it right.

I think Carl's is the best major national burger chain imo, it's supposed to be the same stuff but i've had Hardees out in mizzou and such and it's the same menu but does not taste the same imo...

I like five guys better than in and out

I wouldn't really argue but they're not the same thing... one is a pure fast food joint, the other is more of a sit down hybrid joint... both are really good though imo

Hardees/Carl Jrs had some awesome burgers for a while. Bacon everywhere. Think they were trying to set some caloric record for a while.

Seasoned curly fries are a nice change of pace over regular fries also.

I'm the opposite. Our five guys here seem greasy.

IMO this is the best thing money can buy! Italian Beef from Portillo's. I'm so glad there is one here in Cali!
