I don't want to fish thru the last 192 pages, but I have a few questions that have probably been covered.

If the hearings are scheduled, what does that mean/include?
Are they involved in the hearing, or only int he process leading up to it?
Who makes up the members?
Do the accused players get the opportunity to defend or explain themselves to the committee members?
Or is this all cut and dry for the committee. They receive all the collected info, analyse it, and render a decision?

It's actually, what the devout Catholics, call "Purgatory."

Welcome to the beginning of the rest of your life.

Prove them wrong Bogs.

I know which side you belong.

In the theology of the Catholic Church, Limbo (Latin limbus, edge or boundary, referring to the "edge" of Hell) is a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the Damned. Limbo is not an official doctrine of the Catholic Church. Medieval theologians, in western Europe, described the underworld ("hell", "hades", "infernum") as divided into four distinct parts: Hell of the Damned (which some call Gehenna), Purgatory, Limbo of the Fathers or Patriarchs, and Limbo of the Infants.

Actually, Purgatory is for punishment. Some people that are going to end up in heaven, "God just wants to get a few last licks in, on!"

Limbo is divide in two. Limbo for the kids, which is just like the kids table at the family gathering. You get everything you need, just no as much fun, not being in the middle of all the action!

Then there is the Limbo for all the Old Testament figures, like Abraham. This was put in by a lawyer who wanted to limit the Church's exposure and tighten up the dogma, because without this convention, some smartass would come along and say, "These guys never accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, they were just Jews!" Kind of used it as a solution to unfleck their dogma, and tighten their stranglehold on the exclusive franchise bit they play.

Other than that we are clear. I would like to personally like you to join my pre-boycott group, ready to strike when (if) it comes out that this was one cluster-fluge!

There is so many sources related to purgatory, it's impossible to quote what people actually think comprises the "place."

I'm convinced I'm here.

Like right NOW.

Other doctrines include rapture,

Which is what I hope happens SOON.

Sadists invented in it masochist revel in it, Purgatory.

Limbo is not punishment, but not vindication. It is a lot of nothing.

Limbo is hell for sadists, masochists, and narcissists. (No mirrors.)

Purgatory, or the idea of purgatory was made up to convince good men that there was no such thing as hell on earth. You and I know better buddy!

So from now until decision day we either bitch and moan or post Spider-Man memes?

I've decided to stop looking at the thread until then. There won't be any updates and Koon will likely be in another fight with someone. So, I guess it's off to the "What are you drinking?" thread.

Nope. It doesn't owe him shit as per FERPA. WTF don't people get about this??

Everyone gets the FERPA laws. IIRC, in BK's presser yesterday he stated that the univeristy has always informed the student not the parents. I think everyone here assumes that Davaris is passing on to Phillip everything he is being told by the university. Therefore, when Phillip indicates he is in the dark on what is going on, he is referring to Davaris also.

That's pretty much what I assumed from the get go. He's probably in touch with him everyday hoping to hear some news.

Exactly.

This is a situation, I fear, that finds everyone in the dark, stumbling, climbing over each other, fumbling for the light switch . . .

One of the players involved told me " I know the same as you bro, we have not heard a thing since the day they pulled us out of practice" refereeing to where the investigation was at . That was last Thursday.

This is a friendly reminder that the "ignore" function is your friend.

If you enjoy the general discussion, but find that specific individuals are ruining it for you or pushing your buttons, please use it. Because in reality, whining and bitching about someone's whining and bitching really only compounds the whining and bitching.

The hearings *should* be done by next week, fellas. Let's see if we can all make it there in one piece... or at least implode with smiles on our faces.

Can we create a bet to see if this thread hits the million views before the hearing results are released next week?

Just for comparison. He is back on the team.

Police blotter vs academic wrongdoing.

Apples and onions.

Actually a good comparison is Rawls to Will Mahone. And that is why I am hanging around for the outcome. There is a good base there. Whether you agree with what they do or not, ND usually does the solid thing.

That is in particular why I will be so challenged if it turns out there wasn't a good cause for the delay.

I was listening to the Power Hour the other day and totally agreed with the host when he said there can be no good cause for this much of a delay. Either kick them out or reinstate them.

It's just cruel to keep them hanging on for this long. No excuse is good enough at this point. This isn't a RICO case their investigating/adjudicating... it's some kids cheating. Handle it or don't.

From Eric Hansen when asked about the University Protocol on a chat today:

Eric Hansen: It's a confusing, mind-boggling, hair-pulling sequence. There were protocol in place for these kind of events and apparently the university is taking a new course. I say apparently, because everyone but Brian Kelly is avoiding comment on this. Maybe when we get to the end of the road, it will all make sense. Maybe not.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think that this is intentionally fucking over football players. No way a regular kid paying full tuition is getting this treatment.
