So now we are just waiting to find what there punishment is?

How long into the semester before they pick students to be part of committees?

Wait, so they haven't even assembled the committees yet? That's absurd. This will drag on forever then.

I dont know if students are already on them, i just assumed they select them at beginning of the school year.

ND students would know

Why?

- They had to go through the investigation-- obviously you want that to be quick, but it may have required a lot of time...

- The facts are now gathered, so the assemble the committee (i.e., send out the e-mail that we are going to be meeting)

- The investigators present their findings to the committee

- The comittee says, thank you not leave.

- The committe/provost gets input from the students

- The committee makes its decision

That could all happen in a night. Doesn't make much difference if it happens today, tommorrow, or Saturday. Since the players are not playing.

They need to make sure the decision is made by Sunday, at the latest, though, so they can get ready next week if they are cleared.

If the process drags on longer than that, I will share the general annoyance.

I have no idea if a student committee is yet to be assembled or not. Hopefully it's pre-existing.

But if there is no committee formed yet, you're making that important step seem like a phone call. What if they have to interview candidates, make a decision, etc?

I have no idea how it works, but if said-committee is memberless because it's the beginning of the semester, that's a timely hurdle.

Yeah, I thought you were assuming "assemble" to mean "appoint members," and I was offering the more hopeful interepretation that "assemble" meant "get together." I was basing my congecture on Kelly's statement that "now that school is in session that will happen here pretty quickly.”

I bet the elections/appointments are made the previous year or last year's roll over until new members are selected.

That makes the most sense. Thats how things like class president and other positions are chosen.
