Does anybody know that this girl is culpable for any of this? Is all of this coming from that idiot 'Turtleass.com' site?

Because a lot of us are saying some pretty awful things about an ND student if all we have are rumors and some douchebag's blahg to back it up.

Maybe that is why the investigation is taking so long. Administration is locked up with home made porn analyzing every detail as we speak. And isn't "help with a film project" the plot behind 25% of all pornos?

Like I alluded to and is being confirmed... could've dealt with what was in front of them and called it a day, instead decided to go on an epic crusade through everybody's email folders to catch any past transgressions they could find. Why?

My only takeaway from this is don't use University email.

My only question is, in the course of their "due diligence" they inevitably stumble upon MORE cheating (remember, 80%+) that isn't related to the girl in question, what happens then? Surely they don't ignore it... so does this whole mess continue to exponentially propagate outwards?

If by 'rational,' you mean he takes the pulse of what the general consensus about an issue is, then takes the other side... Yes. He's terribly rational.

I can tell you exactly how Cowherd is going to come down on every topic, before he takes the air. This time, it happens to be about ND, who everybody hates.

While ND has shot themselves in the foot over this, I think the intention was to get out in front of the story before it got an more out of hand with news outlets. The problem is they've already mentioned "vacating wins" which was probably a bad idea because it puts us in a bad position from the get go. It probably would have been better if they mentioned no punishments to start with, and just said that an investigation was going on. The story was going to air regardless whether Jack and Jenkins have the press conference, but mentioning possible punishments before the investigation was complete was just a dumb move as it can back us into a corner. If you're going to blame anyone for the circus at this point, I would blame the players that put us in that circumstance, don't shoot the messengers...not till all the facts are out anyway.



I'm under the impression she graduated in the spring of this year, unless she's going back to campus for graduate course work or something.

My point is that the Friday news conference left so many openings for conjecture and supposition. That conference call was not crafted well at all. Talk about a lawyer with a dry mouth. How many times did Swarbrick take a big gulp before he responded to a question? The entire nation is gleefully dragging a Notre Dame co-ed and four Irish football players up, down, and all around.

I feel terrible for those players who have been putting in honest work on the field and in the classroom to have to shoulder the consequences of others at fault. I hope it makes the committed even stronger.

I'll let the process play out, the punishment leveled for those involved, and focus on the guys who have been upholding their responsibilities and loyalties to the University - coaches and players alike.

I see classes begin August 26th. Has to be decided by then. Can't hold them out of class without resolution.

All I heard was him talk to Fortuna on "Spanning the Globe". I didn't get a vibe that he was sticking up for ND "big time"....but I could've missed any additional commentary.

Swarbrick noted on M&M that this was initiated by a professor as opposed to a former student manager. I don't know what to think other than this is going to drag on for weeks b/c ND is going to take a slow & deliberate look into all this.

Kind of points back to the original story/rumor where DD sends an email chain to a professor which contained back and forth with said athletic trainer and potentially other players. Doesn't sound like it points to the girl, unless the email story is BS, and the girl went to professor. Who knows.

I don't think anyone is being held out of classes. They're only being held out of football activities. Now, they could be asked to leave those classes based off the findings of the investigation, but this could drag out past then.

You know what will piss me off more if this does come at as bad as rumored and 2012 is vacated because they went through emails from 2012. Is the fact a University keeps a record of its email database longer than our IRS.

1. Statue of limitations on taxation is three years from your filing date.

2. I think it's entirely appropriate for the University to maintain records for as long as someone is a student, so at least four years.
