I agree this is one of the reasons I root for ND. Definitely this would be a huge loss, but I would rather ND kids do the right thing

Vacating wins ... wtf?

This is the one thing I really, really don't get.

The standard for vacating wins is simple... you had to be committing a violation that helped you on the field. Playing ineligible players is not that. Playing ineligible players that you KNEW were ineligible is.

For example, it was proven after the fact that Fluker was taking benefits at Bama. They didn't vacate anything. Unless someone on the staff had a hand in playing academically ineligible players, etc. then there is no logical reason to vacate.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me wonder if there is crosstalk on what all actually happened and what the suspensions/expulsions are. So let's wait and see what happens.

As an aside, the lengths ND is willing to go to rat on themselves is absurd relative to the lengths other schools will go to to actively cheat.

Serious question here, I truly don't understand...

Stanford and UVA, even schools like UCLA and Michigan, are generally great academic schools. How can they all have no academic issues with players? Is it directing those kids to cookie cutter football majors (something ND won't and shouldn't do) or is it a academic support issue for our guys?

Cheating shouldn't be tolerated in any circumstances. But at the same time, it seems like our guys are being set up to fail. Of course cheating is going to happen if you take an otherwise academic no-go by ND standards and throw them into the deep end.

Something doesn't sound right and I am just going to not talk about it until something is real. Really, the guys that knew the actual rumor should have just not said anything. People would have brought up the leak on NDnation and if no one would have piped up, this whole meltdown could have been avoided/delayed until real info was available. Now everyone will be in panic mode and unbearable until we hear more. Awesome.

Agreed. My initial thought was "we're doomed if it's Golson", so those names brought some relief. Russell is a tough blow. I think we improve with Rochell stepping in for Ishaq, but it obviously hurts our depth. Lots of weapons on offense to replace Daniels, but I was really looking forward to him this season (along with the other two).

What's interesting is BK has only mentioned these guys when asked this preseason so he knew this was coming (obviously). He also talked up the other guys at the position (Riggs, Rochell, Brown).

This is the real issue here. It almost seems that there is an agenda from inside against the football program.

Don't you have to be caught cheating twice before you get suspended (I vaguely remember talking about it when it happened to Golson)? So if that is correct and they get suspended that would make it their second time.

I'm not sure he is made aware of everything that most coaches are. I don't know but I feel pretty confident that there has been a power struggle going on since BK got to ND.

Well, DD has been running with the 2s in practice. DD and KVR didn't get as many reps as others during the last open practice. Haven't heard anything about Moore but he was scout team QB I think that first open practice. Seems like Kelly may have known something was up. Maybe DD is screwed as a second time offender and KVR and Ishaq are just looking at missing a couple games? Who knows. Frustrating to say the least.
