FWIW: I heard from my mom's, friend's, cousin's, mother-in-law's, dog sitter's, uncle's barber's, customer's, dad's, uncle's, grand neice who wrote the papers for the players in question that DD and the gang are innocent.

Wasn't Thursday night the night that this committee meets according to JimmyMac? Hoping for a resolution tomorrow.

We don't "need" these kids back for Purdue or Syracuse, but it would be nice to get 1-2 weeks of time in before the Stanford game.

How does no one on that campus know when that committee meets? That is what is insane! Isn't that just a call to Academic Affairs to find out when the committee actually meets?
There's not just one committee. Colleges and even individual departments have their own committees. When DD has his hearing, it won't be with "the University of Notre Dame honesty commitee," because that thing doesn't exist. There's a university honor committee, but their job is to set policy, not rule on individual cases. The honesty committees that will rule are either college level (i.e. The College of Arts and Letters), or departmental (i.e. Sociology). I'm not sure if the committee involved would be based on the student's major or the course in which the alleged infractions occurred.

We also don't know if these committees meet at regularly scheduled intervals (e.g. the second Thursday of every month), or on a more ad hoc basis (like the academic Avengers).

I'm going to trollololol so hard when the "guilty" verdicts come out. Lots of experts bashing the university when they have no more clue what's going on than I do or anyone else does.

I get your point but at some point (month later) something has to be shared or known by the students. I never went through this in College so maybe I'm way off but it seems like it's taking a lonnnnnggggg time.

So you are going to try to gloat on how the university spent countless weeks, leaving the student athletes with no idea what lies in their future, coming up with a guilty verdict? How is that justice? How is their lack of communication with the staff, players and media somehow forgotten just because they are guilty?

Last time I checked, most people value the right to a speedy, open and fair trial by their peers. Simply getting a guilty verdict doesn't change how much of a $hit show this has turned into.

How? Because you were "right"? Because they were guilty?

I'm not sure I've seen a lot of "THEY'RE INNOCENT!" posts on here, I'm pretty sure it's been disgust with the actual process. And if you read those tweets by the actual people involved, who have no idea what's going on, yet still think it's ok for the "process" to be like that, then, well, trollololol all you want.

I'm fine with that if they're legitimately found guilty. You've had the evidences for a month and the investigation completed weeks ago.

IF that's the case, kick them out and quit having the 'decision' hang over the student body and the team. There'd be nothing to laugh at on your part.

Let me get this straight: you are going to laugh really hard when our players are found guilty and kicked out after waiting 1+ month to hear the verdict?

To each their own I guess.

What scares me the most is that the investigation has been completed for a while. Now that its taking so long for the decision to come makes me think that there is an over-thought PR move coming here.

It's been said, but it's worth repeating...the University can't legally talk to Philip Daniels. It's a violation of FERPA, which applies automatically unless DD has signed a release of some kind that allows his parents access to his academic records.

If found guilty, they're not "our players." They're "dishonest individuals who tried to undermine the academic integrity of the University of Notre Dame."

Facts have no place in this thread, Jayhawk. Philip Daniels' comments allow koon to be outraged and koon wants to be outraged, FERPA be damned!

It's been said that nothing good takes this long. Even with that, nothing takes this long. If they happen to be sent packing, the time it's taken is still beyond ridiculous.

I don't know if I'm not being clear or what. I'm NOT outraged because Phillip Daniels is outraged. I understand FERPA. Nothing more needs to be said about this....

I'm NOT outraged by the result of the decision (unless it's something completely ridiculous) because we don't have one.

I'm outraged by the fact that it's been a month, the investigation ended two Thursdays ago, and they still have not made a decision. So what you're trying to pin me on isn't accurate.
