ahh...ummm...he made broad sweeping statements about the absoute irrelavance of the program...that everyone should join hands in some sort of bowl, money, and prestige embargo...had almost nothing to do with this year's team. He tried to hurt the program and the university. The guy needs to be driven to whatever is analogous to Siberia in sports media, and dropped off in his underware...

Thereis absolutely no coming back from that article short of getting in a time machine and going back and telling Rick of the past not to be such a pandering, lowest common denominator, ****face douche.

I seriously wish him health and wellness in obscurity, but if the ND equipment truck ran his *** over, I'd have to supress a smirk...

This is true. While on the other hand, Colin Cowherd will spin it to make it seem like he was on board the ND train the entire time. Cowherd is the ultimate weasel, I literally sense a snake-like presence just watching his show. Unfortunately for him, USC took a gigantic dump this weekend against 'Zona...will definitely be tuned in to see his comments on Notre Dame continuing to push the pedal to the metal and USC seemingly going in reverse.

Don't understand what the big deal is. The dummy stated his OPINION, and fans (not the guys who win or lose games) flew off the handle about it. The fact that he is even acknowledging the error of his ways is more than most of these windbags do. He doesn't owe anyone anything. Rick Reilly pisses me off less than Mark May and other so called CFB "experts." Rick wrote one flame article and then disappeared back into the night, he got the bump in relevance (ironically) that he wanted and now he's slid back into borderline obscurity.

May and other "experts" make a living off of hating on Notre Dame and it pisses me off. I mean they are supposed to be objective and just talk about the teams and the games. Everyone gets on Lou for being a homer but he only does it to counter May's idiocy.

Even if they win it all, Notre Dame shouldn't be the only school w/ a seat at the BCS table. Still, congrats on a stunning season so far.

Backhanded compliment because he cannot totally admit that he was entirely wrong with his article.

And honestly, the Irish are there to represent EVERY team that is NOT in the Big Six Power Conferences, and without the Irish "at the table", the BCS would still exist after 2014, with smaller schools totally shut out, including all Independents.

Ironically, ND is actually standing up for the "little guys". Only pompous windbags don't realize that.
