This is a thread to discuss reality TV. No shaming allowed.

What shows do you all watch?

1. Shark Tank - probably the only respectable mainstream reality show.
2. Bachelor - started watching with the gf, have grown to love it.
3. Cooking shows (Chopped, Iron Chef, Top Chef) - one of my best friends growing up is on Iron Chef this season.
4. Random HGTV shows.
5. A Season With... - Duh.

I don't. I won't shame since you set the rule....

But I will say I don't classify "A season with" as a typical reality show. More of a documentary. Didn't watch it nonetheless

1. Party Down South

It's a mashup of Real World/Jersey Shore, except the hillbilly/redneck version.

It's terrible, awful entertainment, and I love it.

I think that's about it for reality TV for me. I mostly stick to Netflix and sports programming, though I do try and catch It's Always Sunny when it airs.

Sounds a lot like that old MTV show Buckwild.

Buckwild was more "a day in the life" with teenagers.

Party Down South is "seven strangers, living in a house for a summer, and they're all rednecks."

It comes on sometimes after the CMT top 20. Martha is hot.

Survivor. Extremely complex and intriguing game that incorporates social science and psychology with contests of both physical and mental acumen.

Got cancelled, but I thought Utopia was entertaining when that was on.

Reality shows aren't what they used to be. They're all scripted pretty heavily.

Speaking of Joe Millionaire, the Joe Schmo Show was my all-time favorite. I wish I had been a little bit older when it aired, as I'm sure I couldn't give it my full appreciation.

Joe Millionaire was amazing television.

Also, as I mentioned in the OP, I started watching the Bachelor with my girlfriend. It's pretty funny -- a girl from my hometown was on it a few seasons ago. There's an actual good show on Lifetime called Unreal that sort of spoofs the whole Bachelor concept.

At Michigan, my buddy lived across the hall from Lauren B on this year's Bachelor

He had no idea until he was watching with his gf that she was on the show. He still had her # so he texted her and asked her if she won but she couldn't tell him.

Joe Millionaire & dating in the dark.......awesome display of humanity.

Who Wants to Marry Millionaire?

I remember the look on Darva Congers face when she saw him for the first time. It was a classic "What Da Fuq did I do? If I recall, they found out the guy wasn't a true millionaire. He was a millionaire on paper by his assets, but what he owed was almost a million. Lived in a small house that looked run down.

THIS!

My wife and I detest "reality" (nay faux game) shows for the most part, but my wife found the Joe Schmo Show and we watched thru to the end.

EDIT: Was A Season With ND Football reality or documentary?

She's definitely a front-runner and hasn't embarrassed herself at all this season. Her and this other girl named Caila (who is a dime) are my best guesses.

A Season With is probably more of a documentary, although at times I questioned if some of the stuff was staged. Shows like that are a blurry line (much like Hardknocks).
