Probably looking at this becoming the new normal in many cases, especially coaching changes for bad teams.
If I am taking over a P5 program that was 1-11 the season prior, you'd better believe I'm going to start trimming the fat out of that roster. Coaches are being fired after 2, 3 seasons now and some of them have won more games than they've lost. Sure, you get a buyout and all that, but for my family and career trajectory I'm going to do whatever I can to win and put myself in the best position to either keep the job I've got or put myself in position to move onto the next one.
