They were 1-11 last year.

Feels like this kind of turnover is a very good thing for everyone involved.

I just counted 14 CU transfer portal entrants today alone and today's list keeps growing! Deion said he was coming! :ROFLMAO:

While likely needed, that is just staggering roster turnover. Interesting if nothing else.

He is coming and the players are going! I don't think he meant to have his top WR and best performer in the spring game be one of them.

Probably looking at this becoming the new normal in many cases, especially coaching changes for bad teams.

If I am taking over a P5 program that was 1-11 the season prior, you'd better believe I'm going to start trimming the fat out of that roster. Coaches are being fired after 2, 3 seasons now and some of them have won more games than they've lost. Sure, you get a buyout and all that, but for my family and career trajectory I'm going to do whatever I can to win and put myself in the best position to either keep the job I've got or put myself in position to move onto the next one.

Prime is going to look dumb if they can't win. Curious to see if the hype is met on the field.

Realistically see them going 4-8 or 5-7 this year. If they get bowl eligible, it'll be a remarkable coaching job. Not an easy schedule, but it does lighten up in the back half a bit which could play well in a team of transfers taking time to gel.

It'll be interesting to see how long this lasts if he doesn't win.

But, I could also see Prime failing up, so to speak, similar to Kingsbury, and getting a better job without any major winning at Colordao.

Could be bad attitude (even though talented players) trimming

From the response of Shedeur, the Sanders were not expecting the departure nor too happy about it.

He added later that he was playing around, that him and that WR are boys, but that people should still go and spam his account...

Young kids man.

How much of this is Sanders running off the "talent challenged" guys responsible for them going 1-11 and how much is players not liking Sanders and not wanting to play for him?

The exodus is getting so bad in Boulder I heard even Ralphie just entered the portal.

Whether it’s the players or Sanders decision to move on, that’s an enormous amount of kids to be leaving.

This is wild to watch. He has so many folks fired up about CU football and yet all these players have left the team - and not just bad players! It's unreal.

He is not going to turn this around this year. I think if they are bowl eligible next year that would be something. He may fail upwards if he can so a 4 - 5 wins this year and 6 - 8 wins next year and some major program comes a calling.

But I bet his buyout might be high for the next few years.

This will definitely test Coach Prime because this turnaround won't happen within 1 or 2 years.

Y’all fixed in outgoing guys,… I can’t believe I’m jelly of Colorado’s ability to bring in transfers,… wild times.

Okay, so I have the count. Since Deion was hired, and since the first portal window opened on December 5th.... 32 players from the 2022 Colorado Buffs roster have entered the transfer portal. But, he's also brought in 29 so far.
You seem a sensible poster, so you would seem amenable to a historical footnote.

The Gold Standard on player turnover is Paul Bryant, first year at A&M. Junction Texas.

It is instructive.

I guess we'll find out but I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a situation like A&M where a lot of guys are bailing (or being run off) after a year. These kids aren't going to Colorado to sit on the bench. But it's going to be hard to beat the bigger-time teams in the Pac-12 without player development, and that takes time and patience.
