Unreal.

You don't think he knew what tonight meant... and a 20 point, never in doubt win means even more.

Can't wait to see what sucker-b!tches in the media try to throw shade on his celebration.

This is so awesome. After all the bad luck he's had i'm pretty damn happy for him.

Kelly is now getting purple faced out of spite to the haters.

We may never lose again.

But actually I haven't seen the players that rallied around a coach (granted I/we don't see much) since the 2012 defense and Diaco.

I'm also gonna also run with that the minutes cut out in the video was a fuck Dantonio chant.

Tony Jones should be injured more often.

A couple early mistakes by Lewerke and that honeybadger 2.0 play by <strike>Coleman</strike> Crawford were all the difference ND needed. Besides that, if you read the box score and skip the TO's, you'd think MSU won by 10.

One thing else... The booth should be able to overturn a "Hitting the QB low" penalty when it clearly was the MSU LT that threw Ade into Lewerke. Ogundeji had a great bull rush on that play. Had the exact same move on the next pass and actually broke free clean but Lewerke had moved to his right in the pocket and got rid of the ball just before Ade could sack him. Ade, Kareem and Julian all looked good at different times. I'm more and more optimistic about the position every week.

Thoght the same thing...I mean is he just supposed to not try and bring down the QB after he gets chucked at his feet??? I thought Michigan Sate played dirty. I don't like that shit. Glad ND kids kept it above board for the most part...by the way the facemask call on Martini? TOTAL BULLSHIT.

Team looked good. Crawford is emerging as the kind of difference maker back there ND just seems never to have. Dbacks improve each week. Still much more to do, but that was nice. I'm not a fan of the giant ass cushion ...although I get why it was done today. Oline was pretty good. Dline was good.

My one beef is CJ Sanders...please let someone return kicks that has a killer instinct...he just waits tooooo loooong to do anything, and I never see him hit a gap with commitment...and that Jet sweep he ran was not real pretty. I know he has it in him, but it isn't coming out right now.

I don't like this.

Sanders had a nice return tonight out to midfield. Mike Young had a run back and didn't look better.

Not to mention CJ Sanders has had what 3 kick returns for TD in 2 years and change...

Wimbush showed improvement, but is still floating passes. Hopefully it gets better with each week. Klatt pointed out that the UGA-game seemed too fast for him, but that with more experience, it will eventually slow down. Hopefully it slows a hell of a lot by USC.

I like the fact that our D is going full Diaco at times. Who cares if teams dink and dunk their way down the field? Points win games, not yards. Long, grinding drives can be physically tiring, but allowing big plays is demoralizing.

The biggest difference between this week and last was attitude. You could tell the team wanted this win. If you half-ass your way through a game, you end up missing tackles, missing assignments, etc. There was almost none of that, tonight. Good stuff.

McGlinchey-Nelson combo blocks are just not fair. There were a couple of plays where they just demolished their entire side with the wash. Gonna miss that, next year.

I loved watching the fans all heading for the exit at halftime. Half the student body left and most of the rest were gone by the end of the third. We ended up with a lot of empty seats around us after halftime and a lot of other ND fans moved down to our corner to create a bigger block of fans. No fan support for MSU tonight.

I fear UNC... see you next week buddy.

I fear USC and Miami, frankly. None of the games on our schedule that we should win are really in doubt, but the ones against good teams, yeah, those are. And I am more leaning towards the idea that Mississippi State is not a good team, whatsoever. The SEC East looks as weak as it has ever been, so it is not surprising that UGA looked like gangbusters against the MSU Bulldogs.

They had one great year.

We absolutely dominated this game. We beat the living shit out of MSU.

However, to some fans, that may not suit their narrative, so let's see what they got next.

USC sweated one out against a mediocre Cal squad.

Miami got blasted on defense against Toledo.

Mississippi St destroyed LSU the week prior, so no, Georgia is legitimate. The rest of the SEC East is garbage, so Georgia should coast.

Can I start the "Mike Elko is a Fucking Gangster" thread, or should we not jinx it?

What did Dantonio do to get everyone riled up?

Thoughts.
the biggest take away so far from this season compared to the last few is
1. We are creating a hell of a lot more tournovers on defense
2. We have basically zero injuries or major injuries, the last 3 seasons before this we had like 3-4 guys already out for the year.
3. Stephenson comes back so that adds another playmaker for wimbush to throw too.
4 next week should be a cake walk a lot of the young guys should season quality reps giving the starters a rest
Thoughts on the game.
Only real concern is how wide open their WR were on some of those short passes up the middle if we clean that up watch out

I can't recall the last time ND played so well in all phases of the game from start to finish with no long periods of mediocre play where we give the lesser opponent and opportunity to believe for a while (if not win). The opening drive and the pick 6 really set the tone for the game and we never really let off the gas. The team played with emotion and passion, not something I'm used to seeing. Usually we come out sleep walking.

-Big step forward for BW
-Loved seeing Dex
-Claypool is legit
-Defense was Diacoian tonight
-F**k Dantonio and f**k MSU

Great point on the D. At first I was like wtf why are they getting so many easy completions, but then I realized that it is much better to keep the play in front of you than to give up the big play.

You make a team dink and dunk and eventually they make a mistake. Very bend but don't break D + turnovers. Would like to see us establish a stronger pass rush. Hope daelin Hayes is ok.

Anyone that has something to bitch about w this game is not a true fan, rather a troll. Great effort great execution great coaching great win. This is a big win for this team which should now roll along in the season. Go Irish!

What is going to be interested is how the polls shake out. I said preseason that the first poll shouldn't be until week 4, well here we are. Fla. St. 0-2 should be out of top 25 right? Miss. State got trucked by Georgia, Irish should leap them correct? Any other obvious changes? Where does Okla. State slide to?

-Wimbush was so much better tonight. He pushed the ball down the field with more success. Last night was a huge step forward.
-Claypool is finally turning into a reliable #2. He had a darn good game yesterday.
-Josh Adams didn't have that strong of a game, but it was great seeing Williams and McIntosh(!!) pick up the slack.
-The whole o-line was fantastic last night, besides one sack.
-D Hayes and Okwara are really coming into their own now. They bring consistent pressure a lot.
-The secondary was good. Love and Crawford are fantastic. I don't know how Crawford has such an ability to create turnovers, but I like it.
-The defense as a whole was good. Besides the QB sneak that went for 50, MSU got absolutely nothing in the run game. They have just become so fundamentally sound.
-The amount of yards MSU got on offense is so misleading. Rightfully so, Mike Elko was playing with soft cushions to prevent the ball from getting over the secondary. MSU took the 5-7 yard passes that ND was giving them and, rightfully so, Elko was content with that. Those passes don't help you when you're down 4 touchdowns.

What did Dantonio do to get everyone riled up?

Basically just tried really hard to score some cheap shit to make it look closer than it was. Almost got his qb injured in the process. Had his team spike the ball with seven seconds left down by twenty to try a hook and ladder for the endzone.

It was essentially a mental temper tantrum that made the game twenty minutes longer than it needed to be.

For whatever reason, I think Kelly really enjoys beating Michigan State and genuinely viewed them as our second tier rival after USC. His best pregame speeches and post game celebrations come for USC and Michigan State.

-BW took another step in the right direction in his growth.
-I love seeing the turnovers.
-We have a very good 1-2 running back duo and they need to be used as such.
-The video of Kelly in the lock room was wonderful to see him having a fun time with the guys.
-More Smythe less Mack
-Dru has a heart to compete.
-The playing calling had some hiccups but over all better.
-2/3's of the people picking this game picked against us and we still won't get any love.

Can somebody explain the personal foul on 91? You can't go high on a qb and you can't go low? I just don't understand that flag.
