- TJ Jones and Cam McDaniel played hard and well

- Farley is too slow to play safety

- Carlo and Fox stepped it up in Grace's absence

- DD was unimpressive.

- Brindza. What a leg, lol.

- Tommy was pretty bad. He's really starting to show his limits. The one thing he should be able to do is manage the clock and the offense, but he was the reason for a number of penalties.

- Nick Martin. Come on, man.

- Run defense was amazing all night.

- Jaylon Smith and Shembo. Wow. Tuitt also was a monster in the 2nd half.

- Jerseys looked awesome. Well done ND!

- We won!

- **** Michigan

- **** USC.

The offense put up 30 against a top 25 team that many people predicted we'd lose to (including the entire TV crew).

Tommy threw 3 TDs...and, yes, a terrible INT. Just awful. But, as you'll notice, their QB did the same.

We're a good team.

Right, but Tommy was bad. Just because we won doesn't mean everything is great. He made a lot of poor throws and his line of scrimmage f'n around is getting ridiculous and confusing the OL into penalties. And ASU's defense isn't very good. They just gave up 41 to USC.

Post Game Observations (Arizona State)....

Post Game Observations (Arizona State)....

1. As whiskey has observed before; at some point we are going to have to quit bitching about the limitations of this team long enough to praise them for never giving up, for fighting to make plays until the very end, and for being pretty resilient in the face of adversity. No matter the record, THIS is a team that is worthy of our respect, and exhibits some of the best qualities that the University of Notre Dame stands for.

having said that...........

2. The playcalling is, at times, baffling. But I'm sure that I don't always see the logic behind it. And that, if I did, I would probably understand it.

3. There is an obvious disconnect with the decision making processes of Davaris Daniels, related to Tommy Rees. There are too many instances of Daniels going one way, and Rees throwing another. Whatever the coaches need to do, they need to get it fixed.

4. The Defense played hard............. they came up with some HUGE stops when they needed to. Congrats to them.

5. NBC's broadcast was horrible. When Daniel Smith got injured, they went to commercial simply saying, "There's an injured Notre Dame player on the field". After the commercial, they informed us that it was Daniel Smith, but I never heard them update us on what the injury was, nor did they ever show us a replay of how he got hurt.

6. Tommy had a typical Tommy game. He looked very good on some drives, and like a rookie on others. I'm tired of debating Tommy, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

The bottom line is that I am looking forward to attending the USC game in two weeks.... and that's good enough for me!

They also put up 60 on USC.

ASU is good. We won.

I just think this coaching staff is lost. There is no leadership by the players either. The coaching staff needs to stop playing the upperclassman and start playing the better players and athletes no matter what year they are in.

I really don't know what they are thinking havin Ishaq dropping 20 yards in zone coverage. Haven't liked and understood that one time this year. To their credit after that conversion Ishaq played solely with his hand on the ground and pushed his man in he face of he QB consistently

I have never been so pissed with a win before, but hey ND won!

No ND is not a good team. They have good talent on their team, but are poorly coached and lacking leadership.

Don't quite understand why he stopped fighting just because we had a 10 point lead. We basically let them walk down the field in the last 90 seconds.

That has nothing to do with Tommy Rees or our offense, which is what you started talking about.

Rees is just a game manager, that's all he needs to be. Besides the bad, bad interception, he managed it very well. He definitely outperformed that QB that Lax was drooling all over

He was awful at managing the LOS this game.

And Kelly was more impressive than Rees. Kelly had ZERO running help, unlike Rees.

279-3-1 isn't "bad." He wasn't great and he definitely made some "wtf?" decisions, but he also made some plays, including the TD where he was rolling left and threw it off his back foot.

He still had quite a few bad throws. Under 50% completion too

More impressive? Lol. I'm sure the ASU boards are debating which of his two costly interceptions costs them the game

That has nothing to do with Tommy Rees or our offense, which is what you started talking about.

We only scored 30 points last year 4 times. Navy, Miami, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest.

You want to rag on the offense, you'll want to discount our entire year when we appeared in the NCG.

I'm going to head to the other thread.

Yes. Thank God for TJ Jones. It's like everything Daniels does Jones can do better. A lot better. Frustrating to watch a guy as talented as Daniels to be so sloppy.

But like you said, this is a tough, resilient football team and they showed that tonight. That's really all you can ask for (OK, maybe you can ask for better safeties. But Redfield will have his day eventually.) Huge win. If our defense plays like that against USC, we should still be at two losses going into Stanford.

I mean, he was 17/38 which is really bad, and ASU does not have a good defense.

Defensive line was much much better tonight obviously.

Our safeties are just pathetic.

Tommy was just, well, Tommy. You aren't really going to get anything different from him.

I am ready for Corey and Will to get more routes. Chris Brown has been very disappointing this year and Davaris just loses interest on a lot of plays.

Bump

Great win against a good team with a very prolific offense.

IrishPat, bring it.
