Wow, where do I start. I might have enjoyed this game more than any game in the past 10 years. Honestly!

Golson is growing up before our eyes. Love his mobility and he has a cannon for an arm (overthrew Brown on a bomb with very little effort). I like how he manages the game. Never seems flustered out there.

It was great to have Cierre back. He made some big runs late after getting stuffed for 3 quarters. Liked how BK mixed Riddick in a lot and even tossed in a bit of GA too. If it weren't for that shoestring tackle by Gholston, Riddick probably would have had a long TD and GA's big counter run was one of the biggest plays of the game (what a call)!

TJ had a good game, Goodman's catch was amazing and Eifert had some big blocks, but I think overall the tight ends and wideouts didn't play great. Chris Brown was open on the bomb, but he really needs to work on his blocking if he wants to get more PT. Where were Niklas and Koyack today??? I figured that they would step up if opposing teams doubled Eifert.

The DLine was amazing again with constant pressure. If Tuitt, Nix, KLM and Day aren't the best group of DLineman in the country, they are certainly in the discussion.

Shembo player his best game as an Irishman...but I thought Ishaq looked lost when he was in there. I really liked what I saw from Spond. He is quick. Carlo played well stuffing running plays and I think Fox may have had his best game too, playing really well in coverage.

DB's did not look like an inexperience group at all. I hate that we lost Slaughter, but I am growing more confident each game in this group. Shumate could be special.

Turk played simply awesome with 3 or 4 excellent punts and only 1 bad one. Brindza was perfect on FG's and PAT's and his ability to consistently boot the ball through the end zone on kickoffs is a weapon.

Last, but not least, Manti Te'o. He plays inspired like I thought he would and brought tears to my eyes with how he honored his grandmother and girlfriend both during the game and in the post game interview. I can't even imagine how tough this week must have been for him. He is truly a special person and an unbelievable talent that we are lucky to have playing for ND.

Go Irish!!! Time to beat Michigan now ;)

I would say that if our D plays this way in every game, than I feel that we can compete with any team on our schedule (not that we will win but there will be no games that we get blown out). Makes me rather excited.

Considering the gem of a thread you started last week I think you should stay quiet.

I found it refreshing. I mean, we're all one family, right?

Negative nancies are always welcome to come back home....

Haha.

Love our team!

Cousins was probably sitting in DC watching the game thinking, " Son of a B1tch I thought their Dline kicked the sh1t outta my Oline last year!!".

My observations:

1. Cierre Wood showed he is the #1 back. But still need to get GA III touches
2. Shembo was unstoppable
3. With injuries in the secondary, Schumate needs to be on the field. He makes plays every time he is in
4. Was critical of play calling to close out Purdue. Much better this week. Having Wood was the difference.

Awesome win by ND. Got a ways to go, but manhandling the #10 team on the road is a great indication of what may lie ahead. Now, let's take care of biz vs. um

One game at a time is how this team needs to look at the the season. Don't worry about anything other the Michigan right now. And i think thats what Kelly is doing just that.

Obviously the dline was great...pressure all the time
Freshman secondary were a lot of times in 1:1 and did excellent..Russell and shumate have been very refreshing
We kept everything in front
Offense had some new wrinkles come out w the misdirection....excellent calls allowing Golson to succeed
Of course goodman had that great catch...but all the wr's maybe didn't have the big stats but contributed when we needed...Tj..looked good...toma Mr clutch when u need a catch
While our ground game wasn't consistent we got the yards when we needed

I was very nervous watching the 1st 2 plays but we shut a lot of people up...I actually like listening to abc's coverage..makes it feel like a bigger game for some reason...anyways could either of them get the players or stories straight....did you know shembo was from Brooklyn? Ceirre was often riddick..toma got called riddick 2 xs ...but what I liked was Heirbstreit admitting he was wrong..

I really liked hearing all the good coming from the announcers. Herbie kept saying how much faster this team was getting alround. He said watching them from yr 1 to know its a diferent level.

Great win. Young defensive backfield is growing up fast. Lost Slaughter, Farley in, no big deal. Front 7 is awesome, great having Spond back on the field. Great job all around.

I noticed something about this........ remember that last week, when Slaughter came out, ND went to basically a dime defense, with only 3 down linemen. This week; Slaughter comes out, and the defense carries on as normal. I think it is a sign of the confidence that the coaches are starting to have for the "next man in".

Did anyone else hear last night the the Irish have 8 recivers with a catch of 20 or more yards? That is really good to hear.

In my opinion, if our defense plays the way it did tonight in every remaining game, I'd be surprised if we lost more than one game.

We still have to play USC and OU. OU likes to sling the ball around alot and playing in that stadium will be worse then last night. Yes i know our young guys will get better but that game will be tough. USC yes they did lose to stanford but they will rebound as much as i hate to say that. Kelly and staff need to go one game at a time just like they are and let the guys play hard.

It was really nice to see ND playing "big boy" defense.
Flying to the ball, the db's swatting away passes, qb's getting smashed, sure tackles... all they're missing is forced fumbles, but they're coming!

The team speed really showed last night!

So damn proud right now. The crippling hangover pales in comparison to the overwhelming sense of pride Im feeling in this program. The defense played their butts off for Manti, and it was so much fun to watch them fly around and hit hard. Ok maybe Im still drunk, but that was absolutely awesome.

*Bring on Michigan, one week at a time.

That halftime speech by BK seriously pumped me up. Holy crap, I'm pumped to study for my freaking exams tomorrow haha. Also, Cierre is beyond a shadow of a doubt our #1 RB and I hope he proved that to all the people I've seen on this board who say that he "dances" too much. Bullcrap - he makes plays and almost never gets shoestring tackled, at least not with anywhere near the frequency of Theo. Fantastic win. Absolutely dominant.

D was great
Kicking game was great (Turk and Brindza)
Oline was rough till the end of the game.
Golic needs to be replaced.
Golson is pretty good but still rather inaccurate, especially on deep throws.

I believed in our QB for the first time in a long time.

He's a first year QB, and he's a redshirt.

Kid's got balls, and he knows how to protect what's important.

EDIT: Would you have rather him throw those long passes short? No.

EG played like a starting Notre Dame QB.
