1. Brian Kelly might be doing the worst coaching job in the country. Obviously has a bad staff in place around him, too. He continuously plays not to lose... like kicking a FG for absolutely no reason instead of going for the TD at the end. You're expected value on those two decisions knowing there were at max 2 total drives left in the game is outrageous. He's an idiot who continually mismanages late game situations year after year or doesn't know math.
2. Another 7 point special teams mistake. Instead of having the ball driving to ice the game we got the ball back with many minutes off the clock and losing. All because a play ran on the field for no reason, because they're coached poorly.
3. DeShone Kizer continues to prove he is not a good QB. That was the 121st ranked passing defense. He was inaccurate with many throws, and was bailed out by WRs multiple times. Inaccurate passing was directly responsible for 14 points (really, 11) less points missing wide open guys for TDs. He is just not very good. He is worse than Tommy Rees as a total passer because despite being able to "make all the throws" he routinely misses many of them. We need to move on to Wimbush starting next year.
4. In general, the defense was very bad. Navy has a very good offense, but you have to get more than one (really, two without Booker Bullshit) stop the entire game. Navy got away with murder... so much holding, so many blocks in the back. None of it called. But the big plays were mostly because of alignment problems. So many times you could tell pre-snap that we were outnumbered to one side of the field with no prayer of making a play if they ran the option that direction... and multiple times they did exactly that and it went for a big play. If we're going to continue to play service academies every year, then we need an analyst who is 100% dedicate to stopping option offense and can instill the same plan year after year. What we ran this year was very different than whatwe ran the past two years.
5. Army is better. Let that sink in.
