Lol, not going to get into names, but it happens and it's obvious if you pay attention.

It's weird, because if I argue with someone on here, I'll rep them a second later if they say something funny or make a great post. I don't keep a hit list so to speak. IDK, maybe I'm weird but I take every topic/argument separate from one another. If you say something totally stupid or rude one day, but are awesome the next, I acknowledge it.

But there's a half dozen or more posters on here that have had an argument with me in the past, and they never got over it. So to this day, they nit pick every chance they can, and ALWAYS jump on the pile once a 'credible' poster has disagreed with me because then they know they're safe.

I try not to let it bother me though because honestly they don't add much to the site.

I'm all for discussions. I'm no expert on any topic we discuss on here (recruiting, film, opponents, ND admissions, etc). But people get too upset or try to put you down because they have knowledge of something you don't. It's sad.

From my perspective, you're often unrealistic in your expectations. You make big and broad proclamations and then are very surprised when people challenge you (see Longo thread). I'm for dissent and well-reasoned conversation. I think you take extreme positions and then are surprised by strong responses. Just my take.

I would drink you both under the table. Soon you and I need to go to Dragoon brewing and have a drink.

I actually believe this because aren't you the guy who is posting in the 'what are you drinking' thread every 15 minutes? I removed myself of that thread lol.

Haha, literally LOLd.

I mean, that documentary was very convincing and I had no heads up at all before I watched it. I was confused I'll give you that, but I was more surprised because I never expected Discovery Channel to knowingly produce something that was 100% intentionally fake.

Isn't that against their mission?

Do you think we could get them to do a documentary on Golson returning and playing in the bowl game? Maybe Jimmy too, since he left with one year remaining, and never really played for a professional team - Carolina were like minor league.

Well I was hammered in that Longo thread. But even then, I asked it as a question and was fine with people disagreeing, but I was wondering why.

Multiple people pointed out that 'we've won every 4th we've been ahead since he's been here', and that's about as objective as we can get since it's such and unmeasurable position. I'm still not sold on Longo, but I don't really have anything to base my opinion other than we are too slow on defense and special teams IMO, so I'm leaving it alone.

Maybe it's me, but I'd never get mad or put someone down for that thread. I thought Whiskey had the best post in there, basically saying it's hard to measure but the best indicator is the 4th qtr stat.

I mean, if I came out with all guns blazing 'Longo sucks if you can't see that you're an idiot' blah blah blah, yeah, I'd deserve flak.

You can argue with me, but at this point I would say Jaylon Smith is our defensive MVP, freshman or not. Also, what is up with Amir Carlisle? I was expecting great things and he is having a serious lack of production????

If you take out the first 2/3 games I might agree with you. He was pretty lost then, but lately he's been arguably our best player.

But it's so hard to gauge Nix's importance. He's not making plays but he's getting double teamed.

They won by a lot, my heart and blood pressure thank them. Bunch of young guys got PT and made an impact. Please do the same thing to Navy

-Was a little worried when Watt went out. When Hanratty came in, and with Elmer replacing Lombard, Zach Martin had something like 3 times the career live snaps as the rest of the line combined. Looked like Watt could have come back in, but that would be a green starting OLine if they needed to run it out over the next several games. You just need that depth on the O and D lines.
-Both lines played very well (not going to get hung up on AF rushing yards relative to ND); the Falcons were clearly all-in on stopping the run
-Kona makes some nice plays to get into the backfield when he is in at NG. He's no Irish Chocolate (no one else is), but he did a good job holding the point of attack as well - Navy didn't do much through the middle
-Hope Air Force's season ends well. Have so much respect for the service academies, except for the cut blocking
-Hope Day's ankle is good to go against Navy next weekend; DLine is getting very thin with another cut-blocking team coming up

Not to be a dick but EG wasn't involved in a NCAA rules violation. He was involved in University of ND rules violation. Very different. Feel free to try again.

This is what I was thinking. It's not an NCAA violation. That doesn't mean I think he can play. I think there is probably a rule that you can't add to your roster for a given season a player who was not officially in school for the semester that comprises the heart of that season. Even if there isn't a rule, as someone mentioned, assuming ND gets to decide, they will definitely say no because they intended for him to miss this season, not simply games in the last four months of 2013.

With TJ the go to guy and the emergence of Robinson and Fuller, then you also have Niklas with Koyack coming into his own. Throw Brown in there too and there are a lot of options for Rees.

I know Daniels and TJ should be the 1-2 punch but this "problem" is a good thing to have.

Merely a question. If you did not watch the game why is it so important that you, and only you, post the post game thread? Would it not be better if someone else who had something more than a stat line provided more insight? Again, merely a question.

The young receivers played great as did Mr. Folston, scary good.

Jaylon is the next great Notre Dame linebacker.

Happy for Tommy and Andrew they both played great. Congrats to Tommy on moving up in the record books.

Isaac Rochell is going to be really good, too.

Devin Butler and Cole Luke will be ballers also.

Anthony Rabasa looks ready to contribute, he looked big and fast.

I have to tip my hat to Kendall Moore though, every time I see him play he plays absolutely violently. You can hear pads crack every time he makes a hit. He flies around and is always making plays. I know they say he has holes in his game, apparently coverage, but this guy is a run stopper. He could play on a lot of teams, I am glad he is on ours. He is one of those guys that stays out of trouble, loves his team and plays with passion. I love to watch him play, wish they could put him in on goal line or obvious run situations more.

Merely a response. Kmoose's been posting the "Post Game Observations" Thread for about 8 seasons now. He's does a good job at being objective.

Last week he was at the game and I pinch hit in his name, a poor substitute.

This week he, like many, didn't get to see the game so he entitled the thread "Post Game Assumptions" based on the stat line. The title was a play on his long standing traditional thread. Others provided their insight, as they usually do, some agreeing, some disagreeing so concise, some with considerable detail.

Freshmen who made a big impact: Fuller, Robinson, Folston, Butler, Luke, Rochell, Jaylon obviously. I also saw Redfield and Onwualu out there. We've got a bright future.

I hope the GAIII/Carlisle experiment is over. Cam needs to be the starting back for the rest of the season imo, with Folston getting #2 reps. Carlisle only works well when he gets into space, so he needs to be a receiver or something. As far as GAIII...I shook my head when we only needed 1 yard on that first drive, and he ran straight into an Air Force defender and couldn't get it. C'mon, are you kidding me? Use your size, man! All George did was shake back and forth, then go down right where he was hit. Aside from each of them having one big home run play, GAIII and Carlisle have been upstaged and haven't made the most of their opportunities. It doesn't seem that either can run between the tackles well, and they're going down as soon as they meet any kind of contact.

This has been kind of odd. Maybe defenses have keyed in on him this season given the way he broke some big plays early on against Temple and Purdue. You would think TJ would be the one to target though, since he's been Tommy's favorite target this season. I'm thinking TJ has been Rees go to guy because they've both been in the program 4 years now, while DD was more in tune with Golson and was one of his favorite targets when he was healthy. I don't know, you'd think we'd try to find ways to get the ball to DD more because he is dangerous once he gets possession (That stiff arm at Purdue comes to mind).

I see a lot of posts stating Jaylon out of position or confused in the first quarter with the option. Who is his responsibility on that play? It appeared to me that he was the only defender out there and was tasked with both the QB and the RB. Didn't appear there was any help. Russell then made some great plays from CB to shut down the option pitch.
