If we could only get our receivers the ball a little more on deep routes for big plays, maybe that will help with this recruiting of Robinson.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I wouldn't take Robinson's verbal right now. We're full at WR; given our scholarship crunch and the big fish we're still closing in on, we simply don't have room for him.

If we're full at WR, why is he visiting? Coaches clearly didn't tell him we were full.

we would take Robinson. Never know with Mattingly or Anzalone, so you take it and figure it out from there. Let's not say no to top 100 receivers its not like any game changers are lining up right now for us.

Plus we recruited Will Fuller as a swing player to either CB/WR. So really we only have 3 WR's.

Has our staff/ some insider indicated that we'd still take Robinson? If not, I'm curious what your thinking is on this one.

Losing a LB doesn't change the fact that we're full at WR. We've only got 3 spots left, and I wouldn't take Robinson over AQM, Mack, or Redfield.

And, unless I'm mistaken, we've still got a shot at Treadwell. His verbal, you take no matter what. Robinson, at this point, oughta wait.

But I'm just some dude on the internets.

Plus we recruited Will Fuller as a swing player to either CB/WR. So really we only have 3 WR's.

But we're likely to finish this class with 1-2 elite DBs. In that case, Fuller probably starts his career at Z WR.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for this kid. He coulda jumped on the bus before Onwualu, Robinson, Fuller or Hunter, Jr. Only the most elite recruits can expect a national title contender to have a spot for them this late in the process.

I have been touting Fuller as a CB/S the whole time he has been a commit. I think his abilities are best on the defensive side.

I would absolutely take Robinson.

This is the nice place to be in. Win and they will come. Win and you get to pick and choose.

I'm thinking we are just keeping in contact and feeling out his real interest level in case we do get a post-season transfer or a few decommits. I'm not sure we would accept a commitment from him on Sunday, but like Clement, we will know where we stand if something opens up. The coaches learned from last year.

Yes we will take Robinson or Treadwell as they fall under the best avabile. you just don't turn down talent like this at a postion we have struggled to recruit for some reason at an elite level.

All I am saying is you can't turn down kids like Robinson for HOPING that certain guys commit. I don't trust Mackensie saying we lead it changes so much. I do think we are in his top 3 though. Treadwell ya we have a shot but he lives 90 minutes from campus and has visited since the spring? Max Redfield will be the greatest flip job ever if we flip him. Mission is a USC stone lock pipeline. Now I think we lead but we need to keep recruiting him and keep the heat up. So lets say Demarcus wants to commit or flip you will take it. We might flush at CB and get know one so move Fuller to CB. AQM I honestly and most do already count him in for this class. I would take a big time WR over a running back also. Its not like they are going to step in right away and play over Amir, George, Cam or William. Now this is all my opinion and recruiting changes honestly everyday. The staff has a plan though.

I'm with ya, Whiskey.

I think, though, that after last year's cycle-end debacle, the staff is just making sure they have all of their bases covered.

I mean last year, they turned away a DL in the summer because of numbers, couldn't get another DB into the mix because academics were an issue late, a combination of things with the Armsteads, admitted a kid who shouldn't have been admitted, and lost a kid on signing day after he took a trip the weekend before that supposedly meant nothing.

I'm not sure anything will ever actually come with Robinson, but I'd rather the staff leave no stoned unturned and make sure all their I's are dotted and T's crossed than do what happened last cycle.

I tend to agree with all of this, but Sapp seems to think that we would take DeMarcus Robinson's verbal. I can't remember if he said that directly, but it's clear based on what he's written that he thinks Robinson is still high on our board. If that's true, I'm not sure I understand it either. Maybe the staff just thinks he's that much better than the guys we've got.

^^^^^ I agree with you post GB 100%. This kid is an elite talent and we take him and figure it out later. IMO Will fuller moves to corner.

BJax and fuller are eerily similar to me. I hope that remains for 5 years.

Both 6'1 165 as a hs sr. Both extremely athletic and fast. But hey I have full trust in Kelly.

Sorry, I'd just rather have my playmakers on defense. That means telling Demarcus we'll be in touch if something opens up. Until then, you go hard for Mack/Luke/Redfield and keep the defense elite (the recipe for our success).

I would rather close with Redfield/AQM/Mack but I wouldn't be upset landing Demarcus. Plus I still don't think we land Mack.

Your spot on, there is a bunch of rumors who we might get and how the class might end but the truth is nobody knows if Luke, Mac or Max are going to end up here, out of the threee I believe we have the best chance with Max but thats just me. I dont believe you pass on Demarcus because you are hoping one of the other guys come around, Treadwill has seen us many times and I have never heard him say we are near his top or in his top 2, could he come here.... sure, but I am not that confident. Demarcus decides to pull the trigger this weekend and give us his verbal, we should and will take it.

I don't think you risk telling Robinson no or to hold on if he wants to jump in and then hope for a guy like Mack, whose been very shaky in his thought process.

I think you take Robinson this weekend if he wants to flip.

^ Same as you, across the board there.

Fellas, the staff may also not see Corey Robinson as a long term WR, but rather as a TE after a year or 2. So say, ultimately, that Fuller is a DB and C. Robinson is a TE, then Onwualu and Hunter are really the only 2 WR's for this class.
