How I know this guy is a troll is that NO ONE thought that recruiting would be a strength for Kelly at Notre Dame. In fact, most people thought he wouldn't be able to recruit any 5:s: talent and that would be his big downfall. And now we have high 4:s:/5:s: players from Florida, Georgia, New York, California and Maryland all in the fold or soon-to-be in the fold.

So either this guy is straight crazy or a troll... and looking at his other posts I'm going to guess troll.

Just did the same thing, and feel bad for sticking up for the guy now. He very well could be a fan, but one of those "the coaching sucks, bring in Malzahn" people that overreact to every mishap.

when we hired Brian KELLY all i heard was he was agood recruiter. well what is it with all these 3 star recruits why are missing out on the better players. it seems nd doesn't recruit as well as it use to. eveen under Weis it recruited better the coaching sucked we can't even recruit a qb in this recruiting season. come on kelly this was suppose to be one of your strong points.

Damn. I just got the Trololololo video/song out of my head this morning.

I totally agree with this guy. None of this year's freshmen that Kelly recruited have made any gamebreaking plays.

Either this guy has seen the future and Kelly's "3 stars" are busts, or he's a troll.

WOW! Pity the poor guy who voices any disagreement with the majority. I would hope that one would not base his recruiting argument on the nr. of stars placed on the recruit but rather on his performance on the field. Anyway, lets all be a little more tolerant of dissenting opinions. After all, aren't 95% of what is voiced here opinions of the poster?

I actually kinda agree with they guy..........in a small way. Even though I don't really get the "star" ratings, they do kinda matter in the longrun, and we do have a lot of "3" star prospects. But in the longrun as well, Brady Quinn was a 3 star and so was Zibby I believe. Anyway, I get where he's coming from......BUT the 3 star guys seem to always be the diamonds in the rough. We'll see though.

Run and tell Nick Saban because Alabama currently has pledges from 10 three star recruits this cycle.

Let me kindly take a stab at this; if you can kindly stab something...

Brian Kelly's 2011 class was LOADED and he now has the luxury of taking on a few projects in this class. That is to say, guys that he sees can do ____ at an elite level but still need to be coached up at doing ____. You're seeing a lot of three-star ratings because guys will be moving positions after HS, or are young, or simply because the services disagree.

The only parts of the team that needs studs ASAP is the defensive backfield, where Notre Dame's class is among the best in the country, and the running backs...where Notre Dame is currently in hot pursuit of four elite backs and will more than likely end up with two.

Lets not forget Daniels, and the Twins--they are stellar recruits. And kept Andrew and Nix those were stellar recruits too.

How about TJ or Ben K? Again stellar recruits. Heck Ben was a 5 star by a lot of services.

Saying Coack BK can't recruit is crazy!

I don't agree with the poster but Quinn and Zibby were not 3 stars. Both were top ten at their position on Rivals.

Actually Quinn AND Zibby were BOTH recruited as QB's. They were both 4 stars for rivals (which rivals is the worst if you ask me) and 15th and 14th in their positions. All the other recruiting sites had them as 3 stars. So take it for what it's worth.

Hey Mike you know I agree with you most of the time but this time no go for me. I think recruiting is over/rated and I see Kelly and the boys getting projected guys in school that turn out to be studs. Of course we'd like the Trent Richardsons but most of these guys play well because of one reason. Dedication to their craft and coaching. Kelly does both of these aspects very well. You are going to see alot of 5th year guys when Notre Dame gets this rolling and more players that you say wow that guy was only a ----star. I'm telling you recruiting is in most cases a way for some guy to make $$$$ for his service or our interest. Yes there are the Lynch/Tuitt etc but Harrison Smith will play pro football and right now is a pretty damn good college safety. I think he was a 3 because of small high school and competition. Kelly knows-trust me on that and I think they are doing this right. His QB's that were downright excellant at Cinn were not highly regarded or they would not have gone to Cinn. Potential is just a word.
