That's one of my all-time favorite threads. Some other good ones for GreenSox04 to consider are Foreign Policy and Theology.
My advice, scroll back through until you find posts from Whiskey, Buster, Wooly, Redbar, PKT, Cack, TTT, Bluto, Crusader and several others and dig in to see what they were posting about and who they were talking to.
Cough bump
What's goin on fellas,
I'm currently in the middle of a project for a class that deals with public politics over the Internet and was looking for some help and i figured this would be a great place to start.
I'm looking for a few examples here on the message board where spirited, thorough debate has taken place between users, preferably between users with contrasting political ideologies. I figured someone could provide an example they could recall of an exchange or exchanges that they've had with someone, instead of sifting through this forum page by page.
Vbucks and Reps up for grabs.
Note: you're not doing the assignment for me, rather providing me an example to use as a foundation.
Thanks in advance.
This made me laugh.

Melissa Harris Perry Says Star Wars Is Racist Because Darth Vader Is Black | RedState
Darth Vader is evil because he's black and disowns his son and then when he takes ownership of his son he becomes a sympathetic white guy.
Only the best of the best get air time at MSLSD. Isn't she also the one who said the phrase "hard work" is racist?
I will not defend her because what she said is beyond stupd, but hopefully you don't believe that Fox News is any better.
But for real Jar Jar is definitely racist. So is Waddo or whatever the hell that guy's name was.

(CNN)Calling Islamic extremism a disease, Saudi Arabia has announced the formation of a coalition of 34 predominately Muslim nations to fight terrorism.
"This announcement comes from the Islamic world's vigilance in fighting this disease so it can be a partner, as a group of countries, in the fight against this disease," Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman said.
The coalition's formation comes as the West has stepped up its war against ISIS, which is also known by its Arabic acronym Daesh.
"Today there are a number of countries that suffer from terrorism, for example Daesh in Syria and Iraq; terrorism in Sinai, terrorism in Yemen, terrorism in Libya, terrorism in Mali, terrorism in Nigeria, terrorism in Pakistan, terrorism in Afghanistan and this requires a very strong effort to fight," Salman said. "Without a doubt, there will be coordination in these efforts."
Coalition's joint operations center will be based in Riyadh.
In addition to Saudi Arabia, the coalition will include Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Gabon, Guinea, the Palestinians, Comoros, Qatar, Cote d'Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Yemen.
What does FOX news have to do with anything other than proving the point that she is indeed the real racist here? Maybe people should be calling for her job as she has said many racist things in the past, including the Romney remark. She should have been fired at that point. Luckily there are only 27 viewers on average watching MSNBC at any given point so the fallout should be little, if any.
1.He brought up MSNBC (calling MSLSD) saying only the best get air time there, and I just pointed out that Fox News isn't any better about saying bat shit crazy things.
2. She should probably be fired (I don't remember the Romney thing but then again I haven't watched MSNBC in probably 8+ years).
3. People like her harm intelligent discourse. We need to have a real conversation about racism in this country, but people like her calling everything racist causes people to look at stupid shit like this instead of the real racism in our country. She is causing harm to the cause that she supposedly cares about.
She's also a college professor. She's not just "preaching to the choir" with this stuff on MSNBC, she's also indoctrinating the next generation with this garbage. You don't need to look too hard at college campuses to realize that this kind of garbage is exactly what passes for "intelligent discourse."1.He brought up MSNBC (calling MSLSD) saying only the best get air time there, and I just pointed out that Fox News isn't any better about saying bat shit crazy things.
