My advice, scroll back through until you find posts from Whiskey, Buster, Wooly, Redbar, PKT, Cack, TTT, Bluto, Crusader and several others and dig in to see what they were posting about and who they were talking to.

Cough bump

What's goin on fellas,

I'm currently in the middle of a project for a class that deals with public politics over the Internet and was looking for some help and i figured this would be a great place to start.

I'm looking for a few examples here on the message board where spirited, thorough debate has taken place between users, preferably between users with contrasting political ideologies. I figured someone could provide an example they could recall of an exchange or exchanges that they've had with someone, instead of sifting through this forum page by page.

Vbucks and Reps up for grabs.

Note: you're not doing the assignment for me, rather providing me an example to use as a foundation.

Thanks in advance.

The Supreme Court heard arguments (again) in the Fisher affirmative action case, and Justice Scalia made the mistake of uttering hatefacts. Various liberal commentators are shocked! to learn that admitting people based upon their race means that many of these people are unqualified relative to their peers. This "mismatch" phenomenon has been extensively documented by a number of writers.

The dispute in the literature is about the size of the mismatch effect, not whether or not it exists. No evidence against it is forthcoming, but we can expect plenty more pointing and sputtering.

I've been pissed because you can't get to those overhead numbers...the article gets part way there, but still does not appear to account for the growth of the IRS to administer the Penalty/Tax/whatever liberals need to call it today thingy. The personnel, IT, and Infrastructure Costs there have been anything but modest, so this is actually WORSE than the 270B.

http://www.cnbc.com/2015/05/27/obamacares-big-overhead-costs-to-top-270b.html

...And my fav...

Dr. Steffie Woolhandler told CNBC that she and her blog co-author Dr. David Himmelstein only became aware of the projected spending data earlier this year. Their blog said this data allowed "calculation of the incremental insurance overhead costs directly attributable the reform."

But subsequent postings of National Health Expenditure Projections by CMS no longer include separate tables projecting costs with and without the ACA, the blog post noted.

Oh yea...open administration right there.

Fascist fear mongerer!!!!! Oh wait, nevermind she has a "D" behind her name. She was misunderstood.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez urged to apologize for comments about Muslims | The Sacramento Bee

Muslim, liberal and immigrant rights activists issued forceful rejoinders Friday to Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s assertions about the potentially high number of Muslims worldwide who are willing to go to extremes, including using terrorism, to disrupt “our way of life.”

Sanchez, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, said that between 5 and 20 percent of Muslims want to form a caliphate to target Western norms.

Same person who mocked the Romney family for having a black adopted child. But yeah, Star Wars is the racist...

I will not defend her because what she said is beyond stupd, but hopefully you don't believe that Fox News is any better.

Any 4th grader in the country can find stupid comments from people on cable news networks, but the "everything is racist" card is getting old fast.

Well that woman is about as wrong as MHP. It's primarily Toaist philosophy that drives the redemption story of Anakin. Many cultures use black to stand for one thing and white to stand for another and they all predate the Bible. Anyway the whole thing is dumb.

What does FOX news have to do with anything other than proving the point that she is indeed the real racist here? Maybe people should be calling for her job as she has said many racist things in the past, including the Romney remark. She should have been fired at that point. Luckily there are only 27 viewers on average watching MSNBC at any given point so the fallout should be little, if any.

Johnny Cash
Oakland Raiders
Chicago White Sox (marketing line...good guys wear black)
San Antonio Spurs
Penn State University
majority of tuxes
majority of limos
any woman in a LBD (little black dress)
rotten bananas
etc

(CNN)Calling Islamic extremism a disease, Saudi Arabia has announced the formation of a coalition of 34 predominately Muslim nations to fight terrorism.

"This announcement comes from the Islamic world's vigilance in fighting this disease so it can be a partner, as a group of countries, in the fight against this disease," Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman said.

The coalition's formation comes as the West has stepped up its war against ISIS, which is also known by its Arabic acronym Daesh.

"Today there are a number of countries that suffer from terrorism, for example Daesh in Syria and Iraq; terrorism in Sinai, terrorism in Yemen, terrorism in Libya, terrorism in Mali, terrorism in Nigeria, terrorism in Pakistan, terrorism in Afghanistan and this requires a very strong effort to fight," Salman said. "Without a doubt, there will be coordination in these efforts."

Coalition's joint operations center will be based in Riyadh.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, the coalition will include Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Gabon, Guinea, the Palestinians, Comoros, Qatar, Cote d'Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Yemen.

1.He brought up MSNBC (calling MSLSD) saying only the best get air time there, and I just pointed out that Fox News isn't any better about saying bat shit crazy things.

2. She should probably be fired (I don't remember the Romney thing but then again I haven't watched MSNBC in probably 8+ years).

3. People like her harm intelligent discourse. We need to have a real conversation about racism in this country, but people like her calling everything racist causes people to look at stupid shit like this instead of the real racism in our country. She is causing harm to the cause that she supposedly cares about.

Agree. For the record, I am generally opposed to people being fired for saying ignorant things on tv. If you don't like what they say then turn the channel. In some instances, firing may be the best and only real answer depending on the situation, what was said, etc. But most people do not want to have a real conversation about racism in this country. It is, and always will be, a two way street. Unfortunately in our politically correct world we live in today, too many try to start that conversation looking down a one way street.

She's also a college professor. She's not just "preaching to the choir" with this stuff on MSNBC, she's also indoctrinating the next generation with this garbage. You don't need to look too hard at college campuses to realize that this kind of garbage is exactly what passes for "intelligent discourse."
