Nope not a juicy transfer rumor. I just remembered this existed and Dante Moore is now a food thread.

Michigan poster considered in the know alleges the offers given to Dante Moore by Oregon, UCLA and ND

“SchoOl 1: $1M fiRst year: $750k on arrival. $20k per month.

School 2: $500k handshake. BLind fAith.

School 3: 250-500k. First year guaraNteeD.”

If this is accurate he took the worst deal.
Strange indeed.

At this point I haven’t seen anything I felt like was trustably authentic on what is being paid before enrolling as the P4P because it is nominally against the “rules”. Every time I see some #’s there seems to be an agenda behind it.

How would we have a “range” and “guaranteed”? If it’s a contract then it’s stipulated. If it’s not, then it’s not “guaranteed”… ND doesn’t guarantee anyone anything.

ND gave Dante the same NIL presentation they give everyone which goes over what other players are earning, what they can expect to earn, and where they could get it from. That was deemed not good enough by his dad who was looking for something more concrete. It wouldn’t shock me if they said he could expect to make $250k to $500k because the ND QB will easily make that… and Michigan’s NIL game is currently about as bad as it can get… but it seems like this guy is playing a little fast and loose with “facts.” Seems like sour grapes that they are comically behind the times with a HC that spends zero minutes recruiting.

That’s the most depressing part of this whole Dante saga. His film is legit some of the best QB highlights I’ve ever watched. He was my #1 for this class almost instantly before we were even the front runners the land him. Then it all fell apart.

When you set your mind on money alone it’s says something about the person. It’s been said here a 100 times. And they way he handled it with the coaching staff shows the person he was that was chasing the Benjamin’s.

The difference in money just isn’t that big in my opinion. I don’t understand where it all soured with Notre dame. Close to home, seemingly where he wanted to be. You don’t think a highly touted Notre dame quarterback is worth a lot in marketing?

So where did it all go wrong? And why the heck is he at UCLA?

Because ND never actually “guaranteed” him anything and wouldn’t pay him up front, which was unacceptable to his dad. Oregon actually does NIL contracts with their collective and pays up front. They also, allegedly, were willing to help out his family.

There are some guys — like Jeremiah Love — where they see the ND pitch and how guys on the roster are currently compensated through NIL and say “that’s good enough for me.” And there are others — generally because of adults in their life — who want something more than that. That’s what we saw with all three of the high profile misses this cycle.

It started heading really south when Dantes daddy asked for money for him to show up at the Blue-Gold game. Then it just torpedoed from there.

That actually happened? Man this system is so messed up. There’s just no oversight. If a recruit’s family requested that I would tell them to get bent. They are only going to be trouble in the future. We aren’t paying “appearance fees.”

It certainly seemed to start going south when Dante didn’t show for the Blue-Gold game and some other big recruiting weekend in the spring. Wasn’t the line that he had some 7-v-7 tournament he couldn’t miss? Which always seemed like bullshit.
So makes sense that money would really be why.

Does anyone know how this stuff works tax wise? You can’t just give someone hundreds of thousands of dollars without the government wanting their portion.

Guys c’mon man! He said it was about ucla moving to and playing against the Big 10 big time competition! It’s not always about the money! I would say this stringing schools along like he did and then jumping back and forth at the end is very disenchanting. This NIL/portal BS might ruin CFB as we know it. We will never see Urban return as he likes to be the big boss and will not kiss players asses. He might let them get away with murder etc but he won’t take shot from them. Coaches will need to be more like pro coaches. Most of the pro coaches are shit and wouldn’t cut it in CFB and many of the so called elite coaches wouldn’t and didn’t make it in the pros. Lou Nick and Urban come to mind. Pete C is one of the few that excelled and excels at both.

Apparently Singer said there was a secret defensive visitor? No longer have On3 but someone on 247 said so.

No idea why transfers are so secretive, don’t seem to be for most schools

Just looking through the 247 transfer portal list for uncommitted defensive players who are either a year out of high school or are grad transfers, there is Truman Jones, an edge from Harvard that is followed on twitter by Matt Freeman and Pete Sampson
