Sure I can. One is an actual statement that could directly apply to the activity she just finished. Specifically, it could've been a waste of time making the pie. Or a waste of time having the visit at all. Who knows.

The other is a single word with zero possible context. It's an exercise in futility.

No more or less of an exercise in futility than reading into his mom's tweet. The timing of Fuller's tweet, which your ignoring, and the fact that Caleb retweeted it (which he did not retweet his mom's tweet btw) makes it just as, if not more, relevant.

I would argue that reading into either tweet if futile, not just one of them vs the other..

How is it relevant? At the same time, Fuller retweeted some other random dude saying "wow"... is that also related to Caleb Kelly's recruitment somehow?

You're confused. Caleb retweeted* Fuller's tweet RIGHT BEFORE Caleb's mom sent out her tweet. How is that any more or less relevant considering the timing and who's involved?

EDIT: To be more clear, isn't it completely possible that something happened during the in-home that Caleb shared with Fuller and mom also tweeted in reference to shortly thereafter. Thus the timing of the tweets? I'm not saying it's likely, but I am saying that it's no more or less plausible than any other cockamamie translation that you or anyone else on this board can come up with.

So how is the other kid related to all of this.

Fuller's tweet was probably a reaction to the UVA bball comeback and buzzer beater to win their game. It was a "wow" moment and the timing of it was minutes before the tweet. I wouldn't read into that or the mom's tweet at all.

Caleb retweeted Fuller's tweet right before Caleb's mom sent her tweet.

Hold on guys - Jake Brown just started a thread with "some intel" on the Caleb visit. According to "a source", the visit "went great". No other information of note.

Great, thanks Jake - it seems all of IE has the same source...Val Kelly's tweet. Good scoop.

You're literally not even trying to understand what I'm saying.

There was a basketball game on TV. It ended in a dramatic buzzer beater. Fuller tweeted "wow" at the same time that this guy tweeted "wow"... they both retweeted each other.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="und" dir="ltr">Wow.</p>— Justin Minaya (@Justin_minaya) <a href="https://twitter.com/Justin_minaya/status/692203812023582722">January 27, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Then Caleb Kelly retweeted Fuller's tweet. And you think "wow" somehow has something to do with Caleb Kelly's recruitment? What? If so, explain how Justin Minaya is in on it all. I'll wait.

So you're going to use intel from a 12:52 post in this thread to support your lack of uderstanding of my post 45 minutes earlier? There's some revisionist history for ya I guess. You didn't know Fuller's tweet was about the game at the time of my post (nor did I), so don't pretend NOW that it's part of the basis for your logic. I'm done with this. If you can't understand why one MIGHT make a POTENTIAL connection considering the timing of all the tweets, then I got nothing for ya.

I pointed out to you at 12:35 that there was a third party to all of this and it a completely illogical stretch to think it had anything to do with Caleb Kelly's visit/recruitment. You continued to ignore what I was saying, and so then I actually took the time to elaborate because you were refusing to go look at the other tweet/timing.

Now you're pissy because some plausible context has been uncovered, and ultimately it doesn't matter whether or not these tweets have anything to do with the UVA game or the Mavericks game or any other event we're aware of. That's immaterial to the actual point at hand I first made... which is that it's futile to read anything into a single word tweet without context. And that's now been illustrated.

Goodnight.

Not pissy. Just think it's funny how you changed your logic midstream thinking no one would notice. OK, so it's wasn't 12:52 that you realized. It was at 12:35 that you noticed another "wow" tweet - STILL AFTER MY ORIGINAL POST WHEN NEITHER OF US KNEW THAT. I had no idea what you were saying at 12:35. Had you used actual names, instead of saying "some other random dude" maybe that would have been more clear. How could I have looked at said other tweet when I had no idea who or what you were referring to? It wasn't clear to me until NDWorld's post that there was another factor here (basketball game). And again- it's not for YOU to determine what is futile and what is not, ESPECIALLY when you're electing to read into a particular tweet. That would make you a hypocrite. Just because YOU don't see a connection between something, doesn't mean A) others are wrong for doing so or B) that it doesn't exist.

I can't believe I'm not asleep yet, but this is just completely unadulterated BS at this point. And it's getting annoying now, because you keep just repeating the same tired, obviously inaccurate argument to save face or something. What is your problem?

My point was "don't read into one word tweets without context, because that's futile." Very simple, very straightforward.

Post #938, we're talking about that abstract concept, and I'm quite logically consistent. Then you respond talking about timing and how I'm ignoring contextual evidence about the tweet. It is at this point, I go look at everything surrounding the tweet, because you've gone all Nancy Drew on the "timing" and all other kinds of implied premises that somehow make it "relevant."

My very next post points out to you how your reasoning doesn't fit because of the unrelated 3rd party.

You're throwing lots of words around to obfuscate the situation and make it sound like I'm all over the place here over a long stretch of time, whereas the plain truth is that the three posts in the progression are quite clear, logical, and reasonable.

Is this a joke? You are the one who started talking about the timing of the tweets... which means you were looking at the tweet on Twitter... which means you were looking at the exact same thing I was looking at.

Fuller's tweet was retweeted twice... Kelly and the other guy. Directly above Fuller's tweet he had retweeted the other guy. This is all plainly obvious just by glancing at Fuller's tweet... which belies if you had taken even a second to try to understand what I was saying, you would've understood it.

So I guess I'm sorry for assuming that you'd make an honest effort to understand what I was saying?

Time to try for sleep again... and I'm definitely done wasting time on this, and will be cleaning up these posts tomorrow morning as they're now quite OT.

Kelly must be just thrilled right now. I'm sure he's gone Ari Gold on the administration building a few times. Tonight is probably one of those times.

Ari Gold is also one of my favorite characters, but that show was really dumb IMO. Classic bar stool humor, see hot girl, chase hot girl, bang hot girl, haha, haha. Could never get interested in it, but Ari was great. Johnny Drama was funny too, but like the League (also with good characters), same recycled jokes over and over.

I don't think it was so much "see hot girl, chase hot girl" as it was "see hot script, chase hot script, make good movie, chase another script, make poor movie, encounter resistance/assholes, overcome adversity."

They recycled the titty jokes much less than they recycled the plot of every-other season.

And I loved the show lol. The thing that makes Ari such a great character is his body language. He's got funny lines, and his rants are epic in scale... but his subtle body language when he's not speaking is what puts him over the top.

I actually hate Jeremy Piven in almost every other role he plays because of how much I like Ari Gold.

You can take a long hike off a short bridge. Show is great and I use many of the one liners to this day. Johnny drama is the best character on tv. Just a perfect role, show is widely entertaining and I'm not sure how you couldn't get into it.

It's bar stool humor to me. I get why it's funny, but I could never dedicate lots of time to it. Arrested Development is more my jam, which I'm guessing you'd think is dumb AF, lol.

Still haven't tried that one. It's on my list!

But "hate" was a strong way of stating my feelings... it's more like I resent every other character that he plays because they are NOT Ari Gold.

Must be nice ohio state getting kids to commit without visiting

that's what so impressive about this recruiting start.

how the eff do you get kids from Texas and Nevada to commit on the spot sight unseen? It's not like Columbus, Ohio is Miami, FL or Los Angeles, California. It's well, for lack of a better term, a shit-hole in a shit-hole state.

Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? In reality, Columbus is bigger and offers more things to do than AA does. Urban Liar can also sell recent successes. Jimmy can't.

Having visited both cities.......Columbus and AA, Columbus is far and away better than that shit hole in Michigan. Plenty to do, and I thought way cleaner.

You're on acid, Columbus is one of the best cities in the Midwest and quickly climbing up the ranks nationally. Just as Ann Arbor is one of the best mid-sized cities in the country. People who say one of those towns sucks are revealing their ignorance.
