I don't like that Louisville has an extra rest day after ND has had successive night games go down to the wire.

I hope the coaches are giving the players access to everything possible to help with rest & recovery: breaks, nutrition, massage, PT staff, tanks, etc. I also think ND should win by 10+ but if the OL has another off night or we fail to see offensive improvement, there will be a growing fire.

I don't think the day will matter. After seeing the video of team in the locker room at Duke, I think they may be more galvanized than ever. I'll be there and can't wait for Saturday.

In an overly simplistic way, our ease of success might (this year) be highly dependent upon the quality of the guy on defense overtop Correll. (moreso than any other opponent position.) That area cannot stand too much power bullrush without messing even Sam up, let alone the running game. I don't know how good the Louisville DTs are, but if they are as good as Duke's guy or OSUs several guys, well, the outcome becomes less easy all over the field. Last year we helped out with Patterson A LOT there, due, I think from my replays, because Patterson was so smart and good, and because Josh was so powerful that he could hold up without help. How are we going to effectively and consistently help Correll with Coogan and Spindler, when they themselves have their plates full? This is a test for this new OLine coach. I believe that Harry would fix this --- let's see if he does.

It has me wondering whether Schrauth should be getting consideration at RG. There's a reason he didn't win the starting job but I'm pretty sure it wasn't his power.

We’re 20th in the nation in yards per carry without a running qb. I think they held up fairly well against two great defenses.

Because that was such an easy win
Louisville on paper is good. They're 5-0 and they're actually better than Duke in a couple defensive statistics. Cant recall off hand but I believe it was 1st downs allowed and total defense. And obviously they can score. This could very well be a game.

ND deserves some serious credit if they win this game on top of Duke game.

They have some athletes that make explosive plays. ND stopping the run and getting pressure on Plummer will be key.

After the SC game, ND will have played eight straight. That’s not nothing. Any other teams going that long w/o a bye? Gotta think some of the kids are hitting a wall or will be soon. Of course, they have mid-terms the week of SC…LOL!

Eight straight with a trip to Ireland to start and the last four ranked in the top 25 with two in the top 10. Brutal schedule.

It was probably like zeke a 30th start, he’s started over 4 years now, and that may have been his worst game.

When you’re asked to tell someone about a football player and you call them “tough” like freeman called zeke, like saying a girl is “nice”. I thought he was really athletic at least coming into nd, obviously undersized, but he has seemed to lose his athleticism. You’re snapping the ball, you have a massive advantage over the dl, to get leverage first, it’s why teams typically don’t line up over a center unless they have a monster there, and hurts their gso responsibility. Not against nd.

Yeah worried that w/ 8 straight games, and USC being the 8th, the tank will be riding on fumes. Hopefully with it being ND's top rivalry, they will be sky-high ready at home to kick some butt!

Didn't we pummel Plummer when he was QB for Purdue a few years back?

I just looked at a few top teams and ND is far from the only one playing 8 straight. Bama, LSU, Meatchicken all play eight straight as well.

No, Plummer lit us up that game after he came in for O’Connell who we were dominating. Plummer made it a game
Lit us up? LOL
He threw the ball 36 times for 187 yards.
That’s less than 5.2 yards per attempt, which is garbage.
And the TD they had was set up by a bad throw into double coverage that David Bell, who is a stud, went up and got inside the 5.

Plummer is a turnover machine.
