My personal take on game favorites – regardless of the weather:
Offense: ND
Ranked 11th total in the nation. Running game is 6th, passing is 47th. I take the low rank as a shift to back-up QB and, we have two back-up running QBs.
Clemson is ranked 102nd total, 94th in rushing, 88th in passing.
Defense: Clemson
Ranked 4th in the nation. ND has dropped to 52nd. The Irish need to buckle up in the secondary and make some plays. One interception in this game could be crucial. Against the pass, Clemson is still ranked 4th and in rushing 19th. Clemson has not had to ‘spy’ the QB nor have they faced an OL such as the Irish.
Schedule: ND
Wofford and Appalachian State.
Some are saying the GT game was a great win until GT was beaten by Duke. Many good teams fall the next week after a hyped game such as ND/GT and lose another. I truly expect GT to be the team they are supposed to be with the T-Option.
Coaching: ND
Some will beg to differ but this is an overall (full staff) observance and opinion.
Special Teams: Pick-Em
If Yoon had not had as many misses, I would run the balance back to ND. One punt return has not made me a full believer yet. I don’t think whatever happens in this game will sway me either due to the weather. The fake FG has me on edge but still a pick-em IMO. I really hope this game does not rely on FGs.
Overall: ND
More offensive weapons, better OL, and better defensive front. As I said earlier, secondary better have their big-boy britches on come Saturday regardless of the weather.

My old coach used to yell "The football gods are smiling!" when it would start pouring during practice. Then we'd immediately switch gears into hitting drills. I say shake down the thunder, as long as there's no lightning and rain delays.
This was still one of my favorite games to see in Notre Dame stadium. It was raining cats and dogs at times during the game, with cascading waterfalls coming down the steps of the stadium through the game. I had no poncho, didn't care, it was beautiful and a hell of a lot of fun...probably because Michigan couldn't hold onto the ball, but the rain was fun too:

I'm in the minority but really don't think the rain plays in our favor...and it worries me. I think we are the better team and want to play them heads up without conditions factoring in. I don't care where...ND, Death Valley, Albuquerque, Japan, etc...don't care...just would really like a clean playing field and conditions.

Holy crap, that Clemson Tom guy is definitely full of it. "Notre Dame players are talking so much trash." Manufactured BS on the part of Clemson is more like it. I hope we come out and smack them in the mouth and take it to them. It was so much fun watching that Miami dude eat crow after he posted basically the same exact video in 2012.
