Wimbush has only thrown over 200 yards once this season: Georgia.

I'm not sure we want to see 300 yards passing unless it accompanies at least 180 rushing.

if its because our receivers are breaking short routes to long ones thats awesome, but otherwise i dont see it.

Ill take the 200 and 2 plus 100 and 1 every time.

The safeties have improved but are also being shielded from too much exposure by Elko etc. While of course turnovers from that group would be great, the less I hear about the safeties the better, because they are certainly the weakest position group on the team.

What you're saying is completely true, and they are playing well. I just want to see them take the next step. The DL is getting great pressure which should give them opportunities.

If they continue to play the way they are - we're fine and can win out. If they become disruptive like everyone else it seems, look out.

I think as a team they are overrated. I am worried about our guys knocking the snot out of USC and not bringing 100% to this game. No doubt our guys are physical and fast which I don’t believe NCST is close to that. Our screen game needs to improve so teams like UNST have one more dimension to worry about. I think if BW has to throw the ball 25-30 times I fear he has multiple turnovers.

I agree that him throwing that much makes it more plausible to be a tough game shootout. But BW has missed some WIDE open guys all year that would be easy 50 yard completions. I think he balls out Sat, and this ND train keeps rolling.

Not sure what kind of depth NC State has on D line but going an even more up tempo offense with a lot of RPO early could have these guys gassed by middle of the 3rd quarter. Wimbush to the outside has been far more effective in spreading the D out rather than the slow developing plays to the outside by our RB's. Even if we have some sustained drives that happen to stall early in the game will help wear them out late in the game. ND pulls away late for another convincing win. 34-17 IRISH.

Why? Why can't we be one dimensional if that one dimension is crushing teams by an AVERAGE margin of 29 points? When we RTDB, we score 49 points more often than not. So RTDB.

I'm starting to see why people are nervous about this game. Y'all aren't overestimating NC State, you're underestimating Notre Dame.

This DL has what, 3? 4? future NFL players and people think BW is going to throw for 300+ or that our run game is roll these guys? Smoke another.

I'm not predicting ND to lose. I just think it'll be their first nail-biter since Georgia. At the very least, it'll be a one possession game in the 4th before ND's depth puts the game away. That's how I feel about it.

Have you looked into NC St. pass defense?

Marshal threw for 350 on them, Syracuse threw for 385, and L'ville went for 350. I like our chances against the future NFL guys on the DL.

P.S. NC St. is ranked 121/129 in pass yards allowed per game at 287. So if FSU can throw for almost 300, I think we can do a little better.

They haven't PLAYED anybody. Never mind wins over ranked opponents, they literally haven't PLAYED a ranked opponent. They're like a worse Michigan State.

300 yards rushing. 42-20.

ND 36 - NCS 23

Just being conservative. ND should win by more.
These numbers seem to be the average of several

Hope you guys are right. I just don't trust our WRs and BW in the passing game. The good news, we have our own NFL OL to put up against their DL so may the best man win. Like I said, I think it'll be us, just not as easily as you all seem to believe.

People should realize, the reason they 'give up so many passing yards', is because everyone quickly finds out they cannot run on the Wolfpack, and therefore spend the rest of the game losing through the air.

But I counter with the quality of opponents they have faced hasnt really proven any of those teams are great run teams either.

No offense to anyone but NCS players are maxed at what, a couple 3 stars? ND should railroad these guys. Last years ND team was terribad and still barely lost to them at home.

No, that is a lie. Their pass defense EFFICIENCY adjusted for opponents is in the 90s. They just suck in coverage, the end.

The reason their not elite run defense is ranked "6th" despite being outside the top 25 in efficiency is that teams are choosing to throw at their bad secondary... not the other way around.

Koon... always the misguided contrarian.

Burn.

But then again, nothing has stopped the #hottake train and incessant blabbering in 5 years. So no reason to get my hopes up.

NC State's D line is good - but their linebackers and secondary don't tackle or cover well. Beat the line up for 3 quarters, get to the second level in the 4th and run away with it.

That's one reason why NC State is not very good at getting off the field on third down. Even when they put teams in obvious passing downs they are below average at stopping the opponent from converting.

You comparing NC State to Georgia? lolz

You said we can run on anyone. I'm not a doctor, but I believe Georgia would fall under the category of anyone.

And I think NC state's DL is as good or better than Georgia's.
