Hmm...always kind of sucks when an opponent switches from their tried and true system to something else. You don't have a lot of film on them in most cases, especially if you face them early in the season. It's nice this game is in late October this time then, instead of early September.

Finally, fuck Michigan.

Good point, but I'd also like to point out that JH is still the head coach...he has always seemed reluctant to give up full reigns of the offense so I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't all that different. *uck michigan

The only concern I have is if he does give up the play calling control. From all accounts that will be hard to do and if he doesn't right away certainly it will be done by the time they play us. If things aren't going so well, that is.

I'm cautiously optimistic. With the departure of Chase "Buzz Lightyear" Winovich, Devin Bush, and Rashan Gary I feel like their defense will be at best on par or worse than last years. Meanwhile Book will be the starting QB which is bad news for scUM. They were super cocky going into last year's game and expected to win, which made our victory that much sweeter. I hope the tables don't turn, and I would feel better if this was an afternoon game and/or at home, but if it's just offense vs. defense I feel like we should come out on top.

*uck scUM.

The attrition they had last year is oddly similar to ours. Big losses up front and at LB, and they lost one of their top 2 CBs. Offensively, they have big shoes to fill at RB (sounding familiar yet?) with Higdon graduating and Evans being suspended indefinitely for academics.

So, the fact that we controlled the game from start to finish last year, and really took our foot of the gas in the 2nd half, other than them having the game at home I have no idea why we are going full circle with the pundits assuming they're better than us this year.

I like our odds. Pride Jr., Alohi Elliott and co. on the back end should keep their stacked WR unit at bay, and I think our pass rush can feast.

Still not sure why ND is a 6-8 point dog in this game. Head scratching.

The only thing that gives me pause is the fact Ed Warriner has been at Michigan a full year now and that offensive line may be improved. He's not much of a recruiter, but he's a very good OL coach and after Heistand I think he's one of the best in the game.

Probably vegas/oddsmakers trying to make some dough off of their arrogant fan base.

I don't see that line holding.

I'll just leave this here:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Michigan is 1-9 outright – 2-8 ATS - vs Top 10 teams under Harbaugh. In the 5 games UM was favored, they are 0-5 ATS with 4 outright losses, including 26 and 23 point losses to Florida and Ohio St to end the 2018 season. UM is 0-4 at home vs OSU and MSU. Get both in AA this year.</p>— Chris Fallica (@chrisfallica) <a href="https://twitter.com/chrisfallica/status/1148601234099752960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 9, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Fair but I also think our DE experience/depth is better than last year, so I see that as a wash.

Easily could see Okwara and Kareem combining for 20+ sacks. We have enough depth this year to keep guys fresh, looking forward to them really pinning their ears back on 2nd/3rd and long situations.

I like that most "experts" are picking Michigan although it has me confused. They must know something I don't because I see no reason to have Scum favored regardless of where the game is played.

They all picked michigan last year too. Then when we beat them they said they were still better than us. They can go fuck themselves.

Phil Steele is super high on them,... why, I have no idea. He’s usually high on us too in fairness, which typically has me equally perplexed.

The logic behind Michigan being good is that their offense should -- for once -- be potent. Good QB, good WRs, good OL. Allegedly Harbaugh isn't going to self-sabotage anymore and let someone with a brain call the plays.

If Michigan has a top 10 offense to pair with a defense that should be top 20 (even with their talent departures) then they should have a floor of ten wins.

Just off memory they lost quite a bit from that defense that was so highly regarded, didn't they?

They did. Form what I see most scUm fans are countering with is the "that doesn't matter we have Don Brown" line. So their logic is that he'll just sprinkle some pixie dust on that D and we'll all watch it grow.
side note-Had a convo w/ an Suckeyes buddy over the 4th and the topic of scUM came up. We both were bemused as to why Phil Steel has them ranked so high (#3). Both agreed that UM is a top 15-10 team and should be about 10-2, could see 9-3 with them going 2-2 against Wisky/NS/MSU/tOSUand that they'll beat Penn St.
What I found most interesting in the convo was that he thinks this is the best UM team since the 2006 team. I countered with the loss of play makers on D and the lack of RB depth, I'm not too high on their young WR's either, but he as was adamant that UM has a playoff caliber team and in some respects this team is better than that 2006 squad.
To hear a level headed tOSU fan drinking the UM kool aid was the most bizarre and uncomfortable conversation I have had in a while.
As for this game I have it as a 50/50 at the moment, I want to see how we do at UGA. If that game is close then I give us the slight edge.

DPJ and Black are very good...i will point out that DPJ #'s are nothing great but that has been handicapped by qb play....black when not injured is a beast and then they Nico...they are well stocked at the wr position
