.... his last sentence was" But they're talented, and we would love them in the ACC for sure."

I print that just to show that, despite what many on this board wrongly think (not Crusader by the way; he knows this well) ND is nearly universally respected as one He!l of a program and Team every year.

We're DAMM good and everyone knows it.

Thing is Pat, we don't need you to create a football schedule. The football team playing ACC teams is only to return the favor of some of our other sports being in the conference.

One gets the impression that Narduzzi really wanted the ND job when Swarbrick was testing the waters in 2016. Still seems bitter about it.

I mean, ND cost MSU a shot at the national championship in 2013. This year's 45-3 might end up costing him his job. Brian Kelly is crushing his dreams, man.

This kind of remind me of that Mad Men scene when Don Draper is in the elevator with the one guy from creative.

Narduzzi: "When I think about Notre Dame I feel bad for them"
ND: "I don't think about you, at all."

And that's fair! I'd have more respect for him if he just came out and said he hates ND. He's come off like a spurned woman when he tries to cloak it behind other justifications.

Yeah that's obvious. I can't recall if it was here or ISD but somebody mentioned that BK was spurned for the MSU job while at CMU and he harbored that grudge for a long time

The fact that these ACC teams, generally, bundle their other home game ticket packages with the games ND plays at their stadiums tells you everything you need to know about the deal the ACC has with ND. Classic case of the ACC feels they need (want) ND, not the other way around.

I'm sure Purdue, Sparty, Northwestern, BYU, Air Force, and Army would gladly play ND year after year again.

Not to mention there's not one school in the ACC, including PITT, that would not do the same even without the deal.

P.S. Beau, hope you're well. I haven't been around much in the last couple years. I still lurk but very little posting.

Look at it from a PITT standpoint....if you are going to play OOC games, why does he/PITT get mandated to play ND?

We all know why that is the case, but when you are a team like PITT, there is a big difference in playing 2 cupcakes + ND + good OOC game versus 3 cupcakes + good OOC game. That win is usually the difference between the Belk bowl and the Quick Lane bowl. I understand his frustration. It stymies him.

I see your point. But, at the same time, this is a bit of a rivalry game, so it wouldn't surprise me if Pitt tried to keep playing if we "left the ACC" (not that I'm advocating leaving for the other sports).

I'd have more sympathy if Pitt played in the Atlantic division alongside Clemson, Florida State and Louisville. However, they're in the coastal where the biggest competition is Miami and Virginia Tech, two teams who haven't been consistently good in a while.

Since 2004, Miami has had 1 10 win season over the past 16 prior seasons.

Virginia Tech has had 1 10 win season in the last 9 years.

North Carolina may be on their way up under Mack Brown, but they're not a traditional power. Georgia Tech maybe decent soon under Collins, but they're not a traditional power. They're in the softer division of an already weak conference. So sorry Duz, that I don't weep for your plight of having to endure an Irish ass-whooping every couple of years.

He knows he’s in the ACC not the SEC right? I mean he’s acting like ND doesn’t want a part of the big bad boys in his conference. Who exactly should they be afraid of other than the team they just took care of, which has owned him and the whole conference the past 5 years? You mean to tell me that this mediocre conference is stronger than a traditional ND schedule?
